This is a brilliant portable media player! The user interface is wonderful; it is quick, easy and enjoyable to navigate my 20gb music library and large selection of television series’, films and music videos. I prefer the zune’s equivalent to the ipod’s scroll wheel as well, it is much easier to use and a lot quicker to scroll through your entire collection of music at once. You can also scroll from A straight to Z to save you having to scroll right through your collection to reach an artist located on the opposite side of the alphabet. The pre-installed games are a lot better than I expected, and are good fun to play while listening to music. Hexic is also pre-installed as it is on the xbox 360. The sound quality is brilliant, especially with some good headphones. There screen quality is also very good as videos look clear and vibrant. The radio is another brilliant feature which also boasts amazing sound quality, which I didn’t expect as it doesn’t require aerial headphones, like most mobile phones. The only mildly negative thing is that in direct sunlight it can be difficult to see the screen, however this in no way compromises the overall brilliance of the product and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top of the range high capacity portable media player.Read full review
This is a high quality, well made MP3 player with big storage capacity. Need to compare it with ipod "classic". Bit bigger and heavier than ipod (but still a neat and portable package). MUCH MUCH bigger and nicer screen than the ipod classic (which is why I bought it...for use in car etc). No problem downloading music from Amazon etc. Sadly not compatible with the many ipod "dock" systems out there, but you can still find the Zune AV dock and remote....which lets you connect it neatly to a classic hi fi system. Quite a nice product, and good value (of course now obsolete). I suspect poor sales were due more to misconcieved marketing and "music sharing" approach from Microsoft, rather than any failing of the product range itself.
Far better as a media player than an Ipod, 80GB storage for less than a 8GB Ipod touch!! Zune software much more user friendly than Itunes. Some people may pause because it's Microsoft, but for once, Bill's lads got it spot on. A brilliant bit of kit.
