This is my second NAD CD player. The first one was trouble-free for 25 years, then packed up. So, I bought this one which is really excellent. Obviously I cannot compare directly, but the sound quality seems better than ever. Sound is very clear at all pitches with no hint of harsh high notes or fuzzy bass. The separation of parts is brilliant enabling me to hear everything clearly and with a beautiful tone. I sometimes listen to very old remastered recordings. The sound of these can never equal modern recordings, but the quality is unbelievaby good. Just one slight criticism, the remote would be better if it included a volume control. In the world of Hi-fi, you can pay what you want, but IMHO the NAD player represents very good value for money.

Delighted with all aspects, although it does argue about acknowledging home-burned CD's on occasions, eventually yielding after up to 7 attempts at loading. If it hasn't worked by then, I'll pick another CD. The vast majority are fine, and commercially produced CD's all run correctly. Having upgraded fo this from years of using a supermarket own brand DVD player costing £20, I was predictably blown away upon experiencing a truly good quality machine with a spellbinding result. I am hearing elements for the first time on CD's that I have been playing for decades.
