A nice little CD full of catchy songs, with a nice mixture of songs - not too "samey". Great to do your housework to. I liked her brother's CD (Daniel Bedingfield) - and although the CDs are TOTALLY different in style - I would say I like this one more. Enjoy!
It's a great cd that speaks from the heart without all the vulgar junk that most pop artists use. It's refreshing to have an artist be able to write and sing with lots of variety pleasing many tastes. She's talented as a writer and singer and keeps your attention on the lyrics while not being able to stop bopping along with the tune.
Inspired by the muse of music even before birth, this UK Pop performer has achieved the amazing, in hitting the UK #1 spot with her debut album. Include her brother Daniel, and they occupy a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the only brother and sister to have achieved UK #1 Solo albums. An infectious pop album with strong R&B overtones and a little funk and dance thrown in for good measure, it's one of those rare ones with no bad songs, propelling it to triple platinum status in the UK. First single "Single" speaks out about women not needing to feel "incomplete" if they don't happen to be in a relationship, and urges them to maintain their independence. Verse 1:- I'm not waitin' around for a man to save me (Cos I'm happy where I am) Don't depend on a guy to validate me (No no) I don't need to be anyone's baby (Is that so hard to understand?) No I don't need another half to make me whole The second single "These Words" tells humorously of the process of writing a song and the difficulties in concentrating, focusing and looking for inspiration. In the end, all she comes up with is the hook: "I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you". Other picks are "I'm a Bomb" (a dance track); "Unwritten"; "I Bruise Easily" (a soulful ballad); the funky "Frogs and Princes"; "Wild Horses" (I like this one); and "Drop Me in the Middle". Definitely worth a listen, and then another.Read full review
