NISSAN FIGARO 1991 Topaz Classic Vintage Retro Car

Welcome to this auction for my wife’s lovely Topas Beige Nissan Figaro 1.0 turbo convertible. Briefly the Figaro is the stylish, funky , fashionable retro Japanese car import. Only 20,000 were originally made in 1991-1992, only a mere 2000 in this colour and were so in demand they were allocated to buyers in Japan using a raffle system. This Figaro is a stunning low mileage example, The overall condition is amazing and you can see from the photo’s that the bodywork is near perfect.. The car has had a major overhaul 48 months ago by UK Figaro expert Fylde Imports which included : fully serviced including all filters, leads and distributor cap,  a full engine flush, Its had a new roof fitted, both parts, the top and the rear window surround as well, this was not one of the cheap DIY kits it is of a higher standard than the original with non shrink qualities and was fitted by a professional trimmer. On top of this the seats have been refurbished giving them a greatly improved look. The car has new shock absorbers all round giving a very much improved ride, the brakes have been stripped checked and cleaned and the steering gators and transmission bush replaced. The carpets are in great condition and there is a new set of Figaro embossed floor mats and the essential cup holders and fire extinguisher !!!! in addition this year she has had 4 new tyre’s  Feb 2011, new Nissan exhaust Jan 2011, the only thing like 99% of them is that the stereo doesn’t work. In addition we have receipts for all the services and MOT's whilst we have owned her.

This was not a cheap refurb, all parts used were genuine and no corners have been cut. The Figaro has been changed to read speeds at mph. The car is registered with all U.K modifications made. it also has six months tax and 10 months MOT so its ready to drive away. OUTSIDE.
The photos speak for themselves. Excellent bodywork throughout in stunning Topas Beige  It is well above average condition All the wheels are brand new and have the original polo wheel caps, these look great and are in good condition.

INSIDE
The condition inside reflects the great exterior condition. The stunning retro seats have no rips in the leather and haven’t turned to suede as many have, the re-colonisation is only a refurbishment for the leather it doesn’t mean they have been recovered but they look greatly improved(I have taken many pics see below). Unlike alot of Figs all of the fluer de llys style lever ends are present. All buttons, lights, fans, electric windows, electric aerial and other controls work perfectly as they should. All in all the interior looks great, we even have the additional cup holders.

MECHANICAL
The car is as with other aspects great it has been well looked after and maintained, this is also reflected in the much below average mileage and the sweet humm of the engine. Also as I said above it has just been fully serviced and checked over in great detail ready for sale. Even after a few weeks it always starts with no problems or rattles ect, new battery fitted as well. The turbo works as it should and the car revs cleanly. It has a space saver wheel and all tools. All features work as they should I have no faults at all to report. Service parts are cheap, standard Nissan Micra.


DRIVE
The car drives very well. I was impressed at how nippy and responsive it was. The 1.0 Nissan engine was always a success but coupled with the turbo and the three speed auto gearbox on the Figaro it is an awesome match, fast and agile around the town and nips up to 70mph on the motorway. An added bonus is the power steering making control even easier and as I said above the new suspension is a major contribution to the ride and makes for better handling and therefore a safer car. The brakes are all good and even though its a small car it drives fine even for someone over six foot like me. The gearbox changes smoothly as it should no jolts or slipping ect. The tracking and balancing were done so no wobbles or pulling to either side. Also they do up to 55mpg which is handy at the moment.
