I have decided to sell my NVT ER4TL , I had one of these little bikes when I was a teenager so I bought this bike to restore, It has to be a very easy restoration project as much of the work would be cosmetic only. such as the chrome work on the wheel rims. and the paint on the fork uppers, frame etc. Or you could leave it and use it as it is. The time warp look has some appeal for me.
This bike was put in dry storage by the last owner after a slight spill in 1982 and had not moved for 30 years. See the low mileage (only 810 miles)
Minor damage to the exhaust and the headlamp rim is dented, also the small knob to lock the tank down is missing but the clasp is still there I just use a screwdriver to turn the lock, the gear lever has been repaired and has no rubber on it
It still has a 1982 tax disc on it.
I bought it last year as a winter project . I was amazed to find the tires are original and not cracked ( they passed the MOT Ok)
The N/S pedal and crank arm is missing (these were always removed as they dig in the back of your leg) have found a new one the right length with matching pedal but have not fitted it as yet as it will need reshaping a bit to miss the exhaust, it passed the MOT without it.
This bike is the one with the seat hump on the back which is rare.
I am told these came with a little front screen, I have seen pictures on the net of them with a screen fitted. (the spec says it should have the fly screen) That said the one I bought new in 1978 did not have a screen and neither does this one. the difference between the ER4L and the ER4TL was the bars the seat and the screen, needless to say I don't have one, some bikes had a front rack fitted and front and rear indicators but I don't have those either. sure they were options anyhow. Please note :- the bike comes as seen in the pictures, no hidden parts.
I cleaned the carburetor out and put some new fuel in and it started first time, the engine runs like a new one, it is really sweet.
All the gears work fine as do the brakes, I greased everything up and oiled the cables and the chain. wheel bearings etc and it flew through the MOT.
Even has the back rack, which will need re-chroming. as will the rims and some other chrome parts but the guards which are stainless steel shine up nice.
As stated it is up to the buyer if they want to do a full restoration, I myself would ride it as it is, I like the aged look.
Great little project that turns heads because it is so different to what is around these days.
You might want to view it just to see how complete and original this bike is. Please ring 01904 750958 or 07732040541 to view. The bike is in YORK.
If you can't view the bike please look at the pictures and be sure you know what you are bidding on. the end price is the final price and will not be changed after the auction end.
I have seen these sell for a lot more than my starting price, ( see completed listing 151027458118 ) So get bidding and grab it while you can. can't be many of these around now.
Please note :- I have lowered the starting price, I will not list this bike again if it has not sold by the end of this listing I will put it back in the garage. or I might tax it and use it as a bit of fun.
