I disobeyed the title, and went back to the beginning of the series and read the lot...but i realised i had missed this one out so had to have it. whilst the books can be taken on their own it is useful to work your way through from the beginning. The only annoying thing is i keep getting a mental image of Tom Cruise, who is over a foot shorter than JR. I cant recommend them enough...very easy to read, difficult to put down, and always leaves you wanting more. Classic modern western. If you grew up on high noon on a Sunday afternoon, graduated on spaghetti westerns and dirty harry, you're in the right place.

I don’t have a television set so I buy a lot of books. I had heard of Jack Reacher via a piece in the Daily Telegraph that commented on a new actor taking over from the diminutive Tom Cruise in the forthcoming film. This new guy is 6’5” and 250lbs, just like Jack. Upper arms like rugger balls - again, just like Jack. Now where Lee Child gets his ideas from, only the cat must know? But I know that these stories are absolutely compelling. The scenarios are completely credible, the way Jack gets out of the proverbial ‘tight spot’ is also entirely credible. There’s a bit of personal philosophy about this, that, I for one, find to be both instructional and inspiring. Dave Murray

I have read all his previous Reacher stories and his description are excellent, you can almost imagine you are there taking part.

I'm a big fan of ALL of Lee Child's Reacher books (with the possible exception of his Past Tense). This one, as with any of the others (see above) is a a worthy addition to his collection
