These are good basic phones, but not if you have big hands/fingers. I found the keypad fiddly to use and the joystick didn't feel very solid. Nice big screen and good features with camera, radio, wap etc. No stereo speakers so not good for playing music.
All in all, this is a good piece of technology - once again, thanks to Nokia. With its large colour screen and clear graphics, the 3230 definitely offers an easy-to-follow interface. The keypad is quite nice (if a little bit small, it's certainly not for big fingers!) and there's a camera that produces decent but not outstanding shots. It's a good texter's phone, as it's quick to write messages and the font is nice and crisp. The menu system is operated via a small 'joystick' as is the case on many phones, and although this does the job adequately, personally I prefer the old four-way plus-shaped keypad. There's not much to write home about in the way of games (not that that bothers me, but it might bother some!) and the ringtone selection is a little bit on the short side. But saying that, these little quirks are more than made up for by the phone's sat nav capabilities. By connecting a Bluetooth GPS receiver you can use it to find your way from A to B both by road and on foot (if you so desire!), and the TomTom software installed on my particular model was second to none, combining clear instructions with extras like audio alerts when you come near a McDonalds or a petrol station! Using it as a sat nav should really be a last resort, though - it does tend to drain the battery like nobody's business, not least of all because the screen is illuminated for so long! You'd struggle to travel for much more than an hour without plugging the phone in, for example. Don't let me give you the wrong idea, though: it's a good phone, and for what it does it's worth the money. Annoying flaw alert!!! There is an irritating little 'beep' before the ringtone starts up when you get a call or a text message. There's no way to turn it off (apparently it's a safety feature so that the ringtone doesn't deafen you if, for some reason, you walk around with your phone next to your ear all the time). It's only a little thing but personally I found it incredibly annoying. The verdict? There are better phones around - but this one won't set you back quite as much as some of the top-end models.Read full review
have had this phone before for 2 years and does everything it should do. From making simple calls, to sending text messages or taking decent photos. Very simple to use, business like smartphone and you can even buy tom tom mobile for it so it acvts as a Sat Nav. The only down side is its not always the quickest phone to react to button pushing. That said, for a nokia with a symbion operating system, you struggle to match it for value as you can pick these up for around £30. Newer symbion phones will add a £100 to this cost. highly reccomended.
simple, user friendly, good quality camera and very mobile in term of size. What else you need? Bluetooth, etc equipped!
