O2 Joggler and Openpeak
A brand new 4GB USB stick pre-loaded with Ubuntu 11.04 Natty that can turn your O2 Joggler into the equivalent of a Squeezebox touch. I know it is the old version BUT it works FAST, so I stick with it. A Joggler needs a fast version of Ubuntu to be really useful
DO NOT ORDER IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN O2 JOGGLER (or Openpeak equivalent).
It is a brand new Sandisk Cruzer fit list price £24.99, so the stick alone is worth more than the money I ask. It doesn't stick out so far as to make a Joggler look stupid, unlike older, larger and cheaper sticks. Yet it can make your Joggler do the same as a Squeezebox touch costing £250 !
It also adds the full function of Ubuntu 11.04, known as Natty. None of he old 10.04 sold by others on second hand large ugly sticks!
It leaves your Joggler unchanged. To use it simply plug it in, and restart the Joggler. After it boots you will be presented with a screen with three large icons:
click "Squeezeplay" and you will get Squeezeplay
Select a track and play it, with graphics of the album, track info, volume, skip etc.
You can also play radio, note the king sized keyboard to search for stations, none of the old crappy small keyboard of the older versions
This on screen keyboard is included free in the software. Select your search, and
play the station:
or play flash videos:
Watch BBC iPlayer , TV Catchup, YouTube, Email, Chat, Facebook and Twitter.
Games and many more applications. Even connect a USB Keyboard or mouse.
You can show Vu meters if you want to be flash, but I think its a bit too much!
No permanent change is made to the Joggler, all code runs off the USB stick....so at the end remove the stick, reboot and the Joggler is back as it was. Plug back in, reboot and you have a squeezebox touch again!
Now the disclaimers: I supply a brand new stick, only opened from the sealed pack to load this software. You will need a Joggler, Internet, and optionally a squeezebox server. If you have no server you can still get Internet, radio, and play music and videos. BUT once you have linked it to a server it will insist on seeing that server to play from then on....BEWARE. It does not play drm locked music off iTunes, but plays all mp3s and ripped CDs .
The code is open source under the GPL licence and does not infringe any copyrights. I supply short instructions, but cannot take responsibility for any bugs etc in the full Ubuntu distribution. I supply a neat stick as shown below, a genuine new Sandisk:
For techies it is Ubuntu 11.04, kernel 220.127.116.11 with Gnome 2.32.1. Posted normally within 24 hours if paid by Paypal, else once funds are cleared. Rest assured, this is the best! I have many happy customers, 100% positive feedback, see my feedback as a seller.
Any problems please email me before leaving neg. feedback. I am a qualified computer techy who wants your satisfaction. Ubuntu support is available from newsgroups, forums, or at a charge from Canonical.
