Hornby R066 Duchess of Sutherland in LMS maroon '6233'
The loco is in excellent condition, really nice and bright with only the odd small mark, it is actually almost near mint.
It may want a traction tyre soon, as struggled a little when given a really heavy(8 coaches+) load.
The box does have wear though, as in the photograph; including flaps missing from one end and tape at the other.
There are no instructions or detail pack.
If you like Duchesses, please look in my shop where I also have a 'Duchess of Abercorn' in LMS maroon.

Postage and Packaging
All items will be securely and safely packaged for transit; the postage I charge is only at the cost Royal Mail charge plus a nominal charge of 50-90p to cover packaging costs such as bubble wrap, tape and labels, I don't make any profit out of postage like some of the more unscrupulous Ebay sellers out there. I visit the Post Office at least every other day and at least 4 times a week so your parcel will always be dispatched within 36 hours of purchase; more than likely this will be within one day though. Please see my feedback for how quickly customers receive purchases.
Multiple Purchases & Postage Discount
If you make a multiple purchase please wait for an invoice before you pay as I always discount postage to the Royal Mail cost only (plus 50-90p to cover packaging costs.) It is problematic to refund a postage overpayment so please always wait for to invoice you first.
Please check my feedback for the quality of items I sell, the accuracy of description and standard of packaging. I pride myself on only ever having completely satisfied customers. If you have a problem please don’t hesitate to get in touch before leaving feedback and I will resolve any problems for you.
I use the standard ‘collectable’ classification ratings as follows below; these are subjective to a certain extent and opinion may differ a small amount on exactly which bracket an item falls in. I do my best to describe items fairly although it is possible to miss small faults occasionally. The mention of one fault does not necessarily imply the absence of others. If I think an item is one the borderline of 2 categories I will mention as such.
MINT; perfect unmarked condition. (Could have been used but still no marks)
NEAR MINT; only minor marks, few in number, may well look perfect until you look very closely.
EXCELLENT; nice bright condition, but could have more noticeable marks or a little minor damage(say to one or two pieces of trim)
GOOD; fit for purpose on a layout; i.e. runs and can be used, but could have lots of small marks and/or more damage.
FAIR; lots of damage, will need some work to bring up to standard.
POOR; really only suited for spares or major repair.

Insurance ALWAYS available on any purchase.
Royal Mail have a new policy on insurance/compensation on items sent through their network. They are as follows.
Standard 1st/2nd class; insurance up to £20 ONLY
Signed for 1st/2nd class(used to be called recorded delivery) insurance up to £50 ONLY
Special Delivery: insurance up to full value of package
I would always advise insuring your package to its full purchased value just in case of loss through the Royal Mail network, which is rare but has been known to happen very occasionally. If for example you have purchased a loco for £80 and you only select ‘signed for’ you will only be able to claim for £50 in the event of loss through the post. Please email for any further information.
Due to the changes in compensation policy from the postal service, any claims for lost items will be the responsibility of the buyer. The reason for this is that in the past I have made the claim myself, but recent changes by Royal Mail mean that sellers can only claim the base cost value of the item, not the retail sales value. This has left me severely out of pocket on a number of lost items recently. I will provide a valid certificate of posting and any other assistance/information for the buyer to make the insurance claim themselves. It is worth pointing out that items sent by Special Delivery NEVER get lost and offer full insurance so I would always advise this choice of delivery over the budget second class option.
I am not a high street model shop and as such do not offer manufacturers guarantees on any of my items. I generally sell very good used model trains and always test any locos before offering them for sale. However I can't guarantee that once they have left me they will work perfectly forever. If an item has a problem a week or a month after the sale it is your responsibility. Model trains do sometimes need a little repair or maintenance and that is your responsibility once a sale has been completed. If an item does not work or has a problem I will always describe it as such. Please contact me if you need any further information.
