Official Olympic Torch London 2012 and Uniform

I was lucky enough to be picked to take part in the London 2012 Olympic torch relay. I was honoured to be nominated and the experience of running with the torch was perhaps the best thing I have ever done. It was a magical day with thousands of people lining the streets and cheering the progress of the torch. I will remember it for the rest of my life.

I would have loved to have kept the torch but alas it will have to be treasured by someone else as I am entering my final year on London College of Communication's BA Photojournalism course and desperately need funds to enable me to complete my degree. Any money I get for this will go towards funding my Final Major Project and my Dissertation. I was nominated by the university for my work on the course.

This torch was used on day 69 (26^th July 2012) of the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and I carried it through the City of London. I ran leg 37 at about 9.05 am. I ran along New Change (next to St Paul’s Cathedral) and finished on Newgate Street.

Details - An 800mm high torch, with an inner and outer aluminium alloy skin with 8000 holes symbolising 8000 runners and 8000 miles distance, with 3 sides representing the Olympic motto: Faster, Higher, Stronger. It won an official design award as one of the greatest pieces of British design. There is some discolouration to the top mechanism of the torch which has been made by the Olympic Flame.

Along with the torch comes a fabric cover and a Medium sized Uniform (which has been hand washed).
