Indeed, this is The Olivetti Valentine, the coveted writing machine that is the jewel of any typewriter collection. Unlike any other typewriter in history, there is a reason that the Olivetti Valentine is part of the Museum of Modern Art (Manhattan, New York) collection. I consider the Valentine to be the Ferrari of typewriters. The Olivetti Valentine is considered to be one of the smoothest, easy touch writing machines. It can print in three colours: black, red and grey (see picture below, & - grey) 

The Olivetti Valentine was designed by Ettore Sottsass with Perry King and was released on Valentine's Day in 1969. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/01/arts/01sottsass.html) 

This typewriter its lightweight modern design was ideal for cosmopolitan travelers, poets who were inspired in cafes, and writers who enjoyed composing on the beach. Undoubtedly one of the great design classics expresses the mood of its time.

 Absolutely unique piece of art in absolute working and cosmetic condition very rare for it's age (~40). Each typewriter key strikes perfectly, the carriage and paper roller move smoothly. The is no scratches, dings or cracks its in like new condition. The typewriter comes with its original signature carrying case, complete with its original ruber latches. No Reserve auction.
