Olympus OM-4 35mm SLR Camera Body Black Finish OM4 MUST SEE! No Reserve!!!!!!!!!
Olympus OM-4 35mm SLR Camera Body Black Finish
June 1936, two men in a cramped 33 square foot factory finished the final testing of the very first Zuiko lens, this day is considered the official birthday of one of the most influential and successful camera/optic manufacturers of all time. OLYMPUS!
Over the last 70 years Olympus has evolved the basic camera/lens design into an ultra-sophisticated, highly refined compact camera system capable of producing outstanding photographic results with effortless ease. The OM camera series best exemplifies this truth. Not only is it the most compact and lightweight 35mm SLR system ever created, it has also gained the reputation as being the most durable and dependable system amongst top-level SLR’s. Additionally, Olympus is the only camera manufacture in the world to ever take the painstaking steps to ensure that all lenses and accessories in the OM system are fully interchangeable. Even though the features & functions of the original OM-1 to the OM-4T has vastly evolved, the size and dimensions are identical; those high quality Zuiko lenses you bought in the 70’s will couple perfectly with the OM-4
The OM-4 is one of the last installment in the well-loved OM series. Using the previous OM series bodies as a starting point Olympus engineers invested 7 years of intensive efforts devolving the highly advanced OM-4. Their primary goal was to create a technologically advanced camera without annoying and unnecessary technological gadgetry, a camera that suited the true needs of the professional photographer. After the extensive development stage the final product was astounding, Olympus engineers managed to stretch the limits of the 35mm SLR to its absolute photographic potential, as far as 35mm cameras go there is nothing left to improve upon.
First and foremost the quality level of the resulting photographs is unmatched by any other camera, the immensely advanced metering systems, along with several other technological breakthroughs, greatly influence the final photographic results. The OM-4 was built with ease-of-use in mind; it is very much like the previous OM cameras, in that all features are created as user friendly as possible. Some of the many feature of the
TTL Direct “Off-The-Film” Light Measuring
TTL Direct “Off-The-Film” Light Measuring Exposure is controlled by directly measuring the brightness of the subject off the film plane itself. Developed by Olympus, this is the world’s most advanced “OTF” direct light metering system able to respond automatically and accurately to sudden changes in light during the actual exposure.
Single Spot Meter Reading
Housed inside this compact body is the most advanced microcomputer ever developed for an SLR. Its primary purpose is to control the highly sophisticated and accurate metering system. In addition to center-weighted average metering, the OM-4 give you the option to take a single spot meter reading directly on your primary subject. This is perfect for extremely bright backgrounds or situations when you are not certain the averaged meter reading will give you the results you want.
Multiple Spot Meter Readings
this allows you to photograph situations where there is a varying degree of brightness or compositional elements with extreme accuracy.. The light values for each spot you measure are automatically recorded (up to 8 readings per photo), and displayed as dots in the viewfinder. Additionally, the camera instantly calculates the average value for all the spots measured, and this appears as a bar graph in the viewfinder. This assures an ideally suited exposure for the image you wish to create. This feature is the most advanced of its kind, it allows you to perfectly reproduce this technique quickly and automatically, at the touch of a button
Conventional cameras are designed to reproduce the average of the differentiating brightness at a predetermined average brightness value (18% gray). If both white and black are mixed in the composition, then the white will be correctly reproduced as white. However, in snowscapes, book copying work, and other situations where white is the dominate color, the finished picture will be reproduced as 18% gray, or, in other words, it will be under exposed. The OM-4 is equipped with a “Highlight Button” which corrects this predicament thus allowing your whites to look white!
When photographing in dark situations or items with dark tones, other camera systems reproduces them as average gray. The Shadow Button on the OM-4 assures that black objects will be accurately reproduced as black and the differentiating black tones will be clearly depicted
This function enables the camera to store in memory, the exposure level at which a picture was actually taken. It is very convenient for shooting a series of pictures at an exposure level determined by the photographer
You have the option to adjust the exposure manually giving you ultimate authority.
The OM-4 features an extra large finder with a view field of 97%. It also features a built-in dioptric correction mechanism, ranging from -3 to +1, this allows for precise compensation for photographers who wear corrective lenses. The viewfinder features an extensive, easy to read, LCD readout to display the various OM-4 capabilities
Newly Designed Low-Shock Focal Plane Shutter
The shutter was designed for smooth and effortless accurate operation. It is capable of extremely quick speeds 1/2000 sec and is noted for its flawless operation
A Vast Array Of Lenses and Accessories Available
