Bought this when some plonker moved the three-year old Dell without switching it off. (Not only blew the lamp but damaged internal circuitry, too.) It's better than the Dell both in power and colour rendering, at a third of the price. Almost totally quiet; reasonably quick to warm up and shuts down in seconds. As you would expect, it recognises laptops immediately they are linked, and also our DVD player. Haven't tried it on broadcast signals yet but don't expect any problems. Fuss-free, gives a reasonable bright 8' x 6' picture. I would have preferred a wider zoom range - but, hey, it's only two hundred quid.
