Rare Original Ink on Paper by R.C. Gorman, Signed Book, and "Victory Party" Postcard.

  • There are three items:
    • Seated figure ink drawing on paper.
    • R.C. Gorman "The Lithographs" signed by artist.
    • Postcard invite to "Victory Party" signed by artist with drawing.
    •  Seated figure praying to the stars, drawn with elegant ink line completed circa 1978.
  • Ink drawing:
    • The image measures 20 1/2" high x 29 1/2" wide and is unframed.
    • Signed by artist "R.C. Gorman" lower right.
    • The drawing is in very preowned good condition, no tears or stains, this has a deckled edge, a couple slight short creases, small bend at upper left top (see photo) and slight indentation where the clips have been placed on paper.  This piece has never been framed.
  • R.C. Gorman "The Lithographs"
    • By Doris Monthan with forward by Jules Heller, 1978, Northland Press, Flagstaff, AZ.
    • Ink signed autograph of R.C. Gorman with drawing: To Bev and Ken, Much Love, R.C. Gorman (drawing of legs).
    • The book is in very good preowned condition, some wear on the cover slip.
  • Postcard:
    • Addressed to Tom Rutherford in type "Victory Party", 316 Tulane S.E.", 7 P.M. June 6" and then in pen "Please Come".
    • On back self portrait of artist?, in pen "You'll make it, darling, Tom, R.C. Gorman".
  • The drawing will be shipped to you flat very carefully.  The book and postcard packed and shipped separately.
  • R.C. Gorman, Navajo artist, rose to prominence in the early 1970s with the emergence of the so-called "New Indian Art Movement." His simple, yet often elegant drawings of women, not to mention his flamboyant personality and flair for self-promotion, soon gained him national attention and a popular following.
