This is a two-stroke engine with a pull-start cord, water-cooled and a plastic propeller. I gather some of these engines were made in the 1980s. That is the extent of my knowledge on this.
I was given this engine by a friend of my dad who was to ill to go out in his boat any more. I had the best intentions of getting it up to speed but now I'm moving into a flat and have nowhere to store it.
I have never used it on a boat in the water so can't vouch for its performance. I did bolt it on to a wheelie bin and it managed to churn the water inside up quite well.
It wasn't working properly when I got it and still doesn't. It works when you put petrol in it but, as one mechanic said, it runs "hot and tight", which I guess refers to the mixture it uses.
It labours a bit and fluctuates in its revs. It also makes a racket so needs tuning and a bit of care.
SO WHO WANTS?
This would suit a boat enthusiast who wants a project for the summer, or who knows how to get these engines up and running without much effort and can find a use for it.
WHAT YOU GET
Obviously the engine. I also have a petrol can (with old petrol in it) and some boat engine oil (a couple of years old but hardly used) which I will throw in.
I'm starting this auction low as I'm not too fussed about how much I get - I want it to go to a good home as I was gifted it in good faith.
There's no reserve so go wild. Any questions, do message me.
As displayed, this is collection-only. I won't post it as it is too big and fragile in its current form.
