Overseas Medal with Ivory Coast clasp, France Military (Médaille d'Outre Mer avec agraph Cote d'Ivoire)

 

The Overseas medal was created on the 6th June 1962 and replaced the Colonial medal (Médaille Coloniale) which was originally  created on the 26th July. It was originally awarded for military service in the colonial wars & protectorates and on the 13th April 1898 this was extended to cover perilous civilian service in the same theatres & also remarkable feats of exploration.
The Ivory Coast bar was awarded for Military service in that area in 2002
The maker of this model of the medal with the elongated suspension barrel is not known.
