Author BiographyEdward Lear was born in London in 1812. He showed talent from a young age for drawing and made his money as an artist from a young age. He worked for the Britsh Museum and for the Zoological society as a draughtsman. He was commissioned to make drawings of rare birds and animals by Lord Stanley in 1832. In 1845 he published a collection of his verses - A Book of Nonsense.
