PEAVEY DEUCE GUITAR AMP 1977 MODEL VINTAGE - SOLID STATE PREAMP VALVE POWER AMP
This is a great old amp, getting on a bit now, believe it was made in 1976 or 1977 from the serial, but has served me well as a back up to my Roland JC-120 (not that I once needed it).
Amp has original speakers and a great clean sound, very, very loud with plenty of headroom, excellent for funk (which is what I used it for), didn't even need to plug in to PA for pub gigs, and even then it wasn't pushed that hard, it's just a beast tbh, and is built like a tank.
Electronics are ok, pots and jacks are a little crackly when first used after being sat for a while, but I wouldn't think they will need replacing as after a few twists they are fine. Speakers are quite nice actually and are the square backed type, not sure if this makes them more appealing, don't think they're BW or Scorpions though...? Tubes will probably need replacing at some point soon but this is reflected in the price, starting at £99 with no reserve. Where can you buy a 40ish year old vintage 2x12 amp for that money?
It is a hybrid amp with a SS preamp and a valve power amp (4x6L6GC) produce 120 watts - this is a very loud amp indeed!
Also worth noting that this is the MkI version with the Aluminium knobs, not the later MkII or VT series.
Not much else to say really, get in touch if you have any questions and I'll help however I can.
PLEASE NOTE: I will be removing the castors from this before sale as I need them for a cab I am now using. I strongly recommend getting more though as it is a back breaker of an amp!
Please check out my other items, I have a few strats for sale and a few 2x12 amps too!
PLEASE NOTE: This item is collect only due to size and weight. Best will in the world I can't ship this guys, it's just too big and heavy. I can meet up with buyer within 30 miles of Walsall West Midlands for 25p per mile each way (e.g. if you are 10 miles away then that will be £5).
Terms and conditions of sale:-
Any questions, get in touch. I usually reply within a few hours.
Cheers and good luck! :)
Would you accept £75 for the amp? I'm in south wiltshire and it's 120 miles each way so just to cover my travel costs
A: Thanks for the offer but no I won't. It's a steal at the list price, it's by far the cheapest on eBay, the list price is the least I will take. The transformers alone in this amp are worth the list price. Thanks... Continue reading
