Pair of Box Enclosures for
6x9" Car Speakers
6x9"
speakers are typically installed into the parcel shelf of
vehicles. This is done by either cutting holes in the existing
parcel shelf, or making/purchasing a new shelf.
This does not suit everyone!
These TL-1690 enclosures enable a pair of 6x9" speakers
to be mounted neatly without having to cut into the parcel
shelf. The boxes can then be positioned wherever they can
be securely and safely mounted.
Most commonly this is on top of the parcel shelf, facing
towards the front of the car. However, the positioning is
not limited to the parcel shelf. They could be attached
to front or rear door cards or even under seats, space permitting.
The use of the TL-1690 is not necessarily limited to the
vehicle either. Both the TL-1691
and TL-1692 6x9" speakers can be used with the TL-1690 enclosures to
form fantastic full range speakers for bedroom or front-room
stereo systems, TV systems, PA systems, etc.
How they work:
The end of the supplied and installed speaker cable (inside
the box) attaches to the terminals on the 6x9" speaker.
The other end of the cable is already attached to the speaker
terminal block at the rear of the speaker. The ends of the
main speaker cables coming from the power source (head unit,
amplifier, etc.) are then attached to the push-fit connections
on the back of the terminal block at the rear of the box.
Because there is no access to the inside of the box when
securing the speakers in place, self tapping screws are
provided. These securely fix the speakers in place, only
needing access from the top.

With the box laid down on the longest side, the dimensions
are as follows:
310 mm (width) x 210 mm (height) x 180 mm (depth) x 128mm
(height at back)

by supplying the wrong ones. I thought Id just go for broke and
buy these on spec.
The only snag was that I had to make some wooden brackets to make
them fit in my car (it was only designed for 4" ones!). As soon
as I switched on the stock CD Tuner and played a track I was simply
blown away. I honestly thought I now had a large woofer in my boot.

The TL-1041 4" speakers are performing 10 times better than I thought

Thanks for excellent service on the 2000w TL-1691 6x9 speakers,
they arrived when said, and in conditioned as described. I fitted
them in; swapped straight in from my old 6x9s which were 1000w units
(500 each) so no hassle there. I could hear the sound diffrence
straight away, much better definition and richer bass sound, with
much louder and clearer clarity on the mid and tweeter sounds.

My TL-1051s arrived well packaged, with a comprehensive instruction
sheet and fitting kit. Mounted on a plywood ring in the doors of
a 99 Civic and powered from a JBL 2x75w amp, they took everything
the amp had to offer. Sound quality veered towards a P.A. sound
at first, but soon mellowed out after an hours running in at moderately
mental volumes. The speaker kept control of various types of music
no matter what the volume, something my own expensive "big-brand
name" speakers struggle to do.
