Quick delivery, very well packaged, cracking cd, love Pearl Jam and all the other grudge bands of that era, especially Alice In Chains and in particular Mother Love Bone - vocalist Andrew Wood had died of a heroine overdose before the album had even been released - the album is like glam meets grunge, and the brilliant Temple of the Dog, both well worth purchasing if you are a fan of this music- I've just hit 62 and still loving this genre of music.

After being a fan of the early Pearl jam era (Ten, Vs.) No one can deny that the album's after that did change. This change however, added dynamics to the band. It proved to us they weren't just a Grunge band but one of the greatest Rock bands of the 90's , 00's and of the 10's . Yield is a fantastic album combining the new intellectual front by the band whilst retaining the angst and power from it's past. The first track "Brain Of J" harks back to the past whilst calmer songs like "Faithful" and "Given To Fly" provide a pleasant contrast adding, as said before greater dynamics to the band. For me it took a couple of listens to realise the brilliance of the album. The album showcases the wild talent of each individual member; The raw untamed vocals of Eddie Vedder, Punchy and powerful bass of Jeff Ament, the combined intertwined genius, sometimes raw but also sometimes clean as whistle guitars of Stone Gossard and Mike McCready and finally the complex, addictive and rhythmic drum beats of Jack Irons (For which this album would sadly be his last with the band). Overall the album only solidifies the genius of the band and increases my love of the band. This album certainly stands the test of time.Read full review
I bought this album to help me complete my Pearl Jam collection. It's not their best album but they can't do much wrong for me! I love the slow songs: Faithful, Wishlist and the inspirational Given to Fly. PJ released quite a few experimental records and the experiments were not always perfect, but at least they never stand still. They are still rockin'. Their best albums in my opinion are Ten, No Code, Rear View Mirror and the new one, Pearl Jam. I don't think you'd put Yield in that list but some of the songs on it are well worth more than one listen , even if for Ed's fantastic voice alone. Pearl Jam play the music I waited all my life to listen to, and Ed's is the one voice that stands out as the best I've ever heard. Can't you tell I love this band?!
