Dear double bass friend,

I am offering a marvelous student / enthusiast grade instrument with outstanding responsiveness and excellent philharmonic qualities. Purchased* upon recommendations by my first double bass teacher - a then member of the SWR Symphony Orchestra, Baden-Baden in 1991 it accompanied me throughout my education and years of performance until 2003. Since then and due to my ever more demanding primary career it has been kept carefully stored and played on rare occasions only. As it'll be no fate for the instrument to remain within its sleeve I am looking for an ambitious bassist to take over.

By 1996 I decided to have the instrument thoroughly restored due to an age-related humming vibration of the body’s top panel. I selected Geigenbaumeister Franz Wilfer for the restoration works - a well-known 5th generation
luthier authority based in Nauheim, Germany close to Frankfurt/Main. The entire instrument has been carefully overhauled - it received a completely new top panel and all age-related cracks have been overworked and restabilized ( about GBP 2600 / USD 4000 at that time** ). Since then it turned out to be a very convincing instrument.

You may want to visit the instrument and give it try - anytime you like in Frankfurt/Main or Stuttgart. You'll find international and low fare airports as well as high speed train connections nearby in less than 30min. The instrument has been reviewed and made ready for performance by Franz Wilfer last November
( about GBP 500 / USD 800** ) and thus is in an excellent state - both musically as well as cosmetically.
Current photos were taken last autumn before the revision - I haven't found time and sunny weather conditions yet to update them. No scratches, dust or fingerprints.
If you know some German or Google Translate you might find the website of "Geigenbaumeister Wilfer" very helpful ( a top Google hit ). You need to click onto the violin or the logo picture to pass his welcome screen. If you have any questions please ask them ahead of bidding.

I'm offering free weekend delivery upon purchase within a 6-7hrs high speed train ride to any major EU / UK citiy such as London, Paris, Lyon, Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg, Zurich, Geneva, Turin, Milan, Venice, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Salzburg or Vienna. A special limited time only offer to you.

Worldwide delivery available - fully insured by any carrier of your choice. For example Japan by air to your doorstep: JPY 20万 / GBP 1500 by "IMS Moving", Stuttgart.
You may want to pick it up by yourself - ANA for instance  will charge between USD 150 and USD 300 depending on the size / weight of your case.
Hardcases available for rent upon request by several airlines.

I’ll be more than glad if there could be a new and promising musical career for this instrument.
Don't hesitate to contact me in English, German, French, Italian or Japanese.

I’ll gladly offer a 3% commission to any recommendation leading to a successful sale !
