Pigfish, Birmingham’s saviours of all things punk – pop, ‘The Reverend James’ picked up loads of great reviews in the music press and fanzines, including 4/5 in Kerrang and 8/10 in Metal Hammer together with more airplay than it’s fair to expect for a new band. This combined with the relentless touring of their killer live set helped win Pigfish a permanent place in the psyche of anyone who ever loved perfect noisy, hook-laden attitude. Harking back to the glory days of the late seventies when Irish label Good Vibrations rubber stamped the perfect pop-punk blueprint that the Ramones and Buzzcocks pioneered, Pigfish are the original 1-2-3-4 heads down, guitars up loud, killer-song-smiths that so many guitar pretenders from both side of the Atlantic get so very wrong.

Think of all your fave 70s punk bands, The Ramones or Stiff little fingers, add more recent influences such as the Wildhearts or Green Day and pay some attention to melody and youre some way to getting to what Pigfish are about.
In short , its heads down, guitars up loud, punk rock n roll carried out with energy, guts, attitude and a fair degree of song writing nous.
Pigfish have supported the Damned, Stiff Little Fingers, Spunge, Bad Manners, UK Subs.In 2004 Pigfish , in their other guise as the Raymonds (Ramones covers) played with Marky Ramone as his backing band Playing Ramones classics. Now how many covers bands do you know that have got to play with an actual band member of the band they cover.???
Now back after a 2 year break Pigfish will be picking up where they left off and will be out n about doing what theyve always done best, makin a din!, see you at a gig somewhere ?.

CREOSOTE THE BABY 12 Track Album Delta Loop Recoreds
KERRANG 'Picking up the melodic mantle left by the likes of the Ramones and Operator Ivy, Creosote the Baby is a chugging, short, sharp treat'.Kerrang KKK
METAL HAMMER 7/10 ' carried off with a considerable degree of energy, guts and song-writing nous - making this one of the best albums I've heard for ages.'
THE REVEREND JAMES 8 track EP Iron Man Records
KERRANG. 'If you need some damn fine cherries picking, then you couldn't really ask for any better selectors than Pigfish. Aquiring stylings at random can be a trick business, especially in the post punk world of the bravely struck guitar. You may set out to be an unholy combination of the Clash and Ruts, but it's all to easy to end up with an entire album's worth of second generation plastic Bertrand B-sides.
Pigfish, however, have chosen there influences impeccably: traditional Jam style hooks are lashed to the swashbuckling rock swagger of more recent progenotors like 3 Colours Red and The Wildhearts. The end result is a sophomore album of blazing ferocity and limitless promise. Ian Fortam Kerrang KKKK
ALL SNOWY ON THE POND 12 track Album . Acrude Records (France)
How often does this band get mentioned amongst the great UK pop punk bands like early Snuff, well never and it's a fking crime, as these guys as far as I'm aware have been rocking for about 4 years now and have totally balled me over with their 'The Reverend James' CD, and now this. What you get for your money here is 11 brand new tracks so you get bags of great British snotty power pop punk for you hard earned dosh. If you like Pop Punk of any kind then this is totally recommend and it's none of that stupid chart shit either. Definitely for all those Consumed, Snuff, 4Ft Finger fans out there, but this has a earlier punk edge too, that will get all those older rockers pogoing again.
Russ Frame Vocals / Guitar and the main song writing force behind Pigfish. Passionate about his home town team of Cov City and scathing of the current wave songless, this weeks fashion punk /ska bands, the low slung Les Paul slingin Russ has an frightening knowledge of all things musical and has the weirdest sense of humour this side of a secure institution.
Jase Burley - Bass /Vocals. The 6ft 4 bass monster, sings like an angel, gurns like steptoe and is easily the clumsiest and most forgetful person alive. This is generally credited to him having a head on with a H.G.V coming down a hill whilst trying to change the car radio whilst peering between the gap between steering wheel and dashboard. Not a particularly Successful driving manoeuvre but at least he got a ride in a helicopter to have his tongue sewn back together !.
Tony Henderson Drums. Hits em very hard n very quick too. Generally gets the duff job of making sure the others get organised and the band happens. Usually found lying in the dirt, spanners in hand being hopelessly optimistic in attempting to fix some leaky vehicle. Loves his music, loves drumming, doesnt understand guitars and thinks the others are all a bit odd really.
2nd guitar, up 4 grabs if y fancy it, we get lonely y'know.
Whats a Pigfish? Fck knows, ask Jase, its all his fault. Probably conceived in a heavy cloud of toxic smoke aboard some far out trip to no where.
