Liberon Gilt Varnish

Liberon Gilt Varnish is made from bronze powder colouring agents in a liquid acrylic varnish medium. This makes the varnish easy to apply, and suitable for many surfaces including wood, pottery, metal, glass and plaster. All Liberon Gilt Varnish colour's are fully intermixable to get a perfect colour match; the finish colour can also be toned or patinated if required using Liberon Gilt Cream. If applying to new or porous surfaces we would recommend applying a coat of Liberon Fontenay Base to seal the surface before applying Gilt Varnish

Yellow Ochre, also called Mars Yellow and is an Earth Pigment consisting of silica and clay, naturally coloured by its Iron Oxide content. The name "Yellow ochre" comes from Greek ochros  meaning pale yellow. Ochres have been the most widely used pigments since prehistoric times and come in various shades from light Yellow to deep Red and some even with a hint of blue.  The colour of ochre pigments changes when heat is applied and the more heat, the stronger and richer the colour. Ochres mix well with most other Earth Pigments and traditionally regarded an important colour for fresco, oil, tempera, watercolour and encaustic painting,  and is commonly used to create flesh tones.  Yellow and Red Ochres are the most popular pigments used for Encaustic Painting (mixed with beeswax).

Our Earth Pigments are are finely ground and of the highest quality. The pigments are natural and are used to colour a wide variety of materials including:  putty, paint, cement, plaster, grout, shellac, woodfillers, wax and beeswax.  These pigments are commonly used to make traditional oil paints by mixed the pigment with linseed oil. 

Earth pigments were originally used for Cave painting and for the painting of Egyptian murals and for Fresco painting, but are now more commonly commercially used to colour putty, oil & water paint, cement, plaster, grout, shellac, woodfillers, wax polishes or with wax for Encaustic painting.  Earth pigments are also commonly used by Antiques restorers to make wood dyes or are blended with beeswax and carnauba wax to make a coloured wood stopper to replicate original colours.

Our Earth Pigments are are finely ground and of the highest quality and have in recent years become extremely popular with model makers, who wish to achieve realistic and authentic looking finishes,  especially with military and railway enthusiasts where a weathered look is far more desirable. The pigments are commonly used as dust, or it is mixed with thinners to create a paste or is airbrushed, or mixed with acrylic resins, to replicate  urban, rural, industrial or warfare surfaces conditions like:  dust, dirt, mud, rust or surfaces that are in state of damage or repair (especially red lead).

All Purpose Waterproof Wood Adhesive is a medium viscosity, resin based polymer emulsion which exceeds the water resistance requirements of EN204D3. The product is also suitable for load bearing work as it conforms fully to the BS4071 Creep Resistance requirements.
