The winner of is auction will have the opportunity to present a trophy on stage to one of our big-name winners, and then accompany the winner backstage to the press room for photographs.

In addition the winner will receive:

  • TWO premium tickets (normally £75 each) to the Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert at 7pm on Sunday 19 February 2012 at the West End’s Prince of Wales Theatre (current home of Mamma Mia!)
  • Interval champagne
  • TWO souvenir programmes signed by the Concert hosts
  • TWO passes to our exclusive post-show party at Baby Grand at Freedom in Soho
  • Now entering its 12th year, the Whatsonstage.com Awards are the only major UK theatre awards voted for across the board by the public. Voting for the 2012 Awards, covering the 2011 theatregoing year, took place between 2 December 2011 and 31 January 2012, and saw over 70,000 theatregoers take part.

Winners will be announced and trophies presented at our Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert at the West End’s Prince of Wales Theatre (home of Mamma Mia!) at 7pm on Sunday 19 February 2012, hosted by Sheridan Smith.

Inspired by our adopted charity Stage One and their “West End Lots” online auction of unmissable theatre experiences, we’re auctioning off a truly unmissable experience of our own: a chance for one theatregoer to present one of this year’s Whatsonstage.com Award trophies onstage at the Prince of Wales on 19 February.

The evening includes a two-and-a-half hour Concert performed by numerous nominees and other top West End stars as well as numbers from some of the year's biggest musicals - and of course, big-name winners collecting their trophies to massive audience cheers.

Whatsonstage.com are very pleased to announce that Queen’s Brian May will bring the 2012 Whatsonstage.com Awards to a rock ‘n’ roll conclusion, performing the finale of the Awards Concert alongside West End diva Kerry Ellis.

Top (l-r): Sarah Lanchashire in Betty Blue Eyes, Sharon D Clarke in Ghost. Bottom: Hannah Waddingham in The Wizard of Oz, Lauren Ward (with Bertie Carvel) in Matilda, Sean Palmer in Crazy for You.

The line-up for the Awards Concert was today announced as including performances by four more West End divas and 2012 nominees - Hannah Waddingham, Sharon D Clarke, Lauren Ward and Sarah Lancashire as well as Crazy for You’s Best Actor in a Musical nominee Sean Palmer.

Top (l-r): Dean Chisnall, Sophie Evans, Tiffany Graves. Middle: Melanie La Barrie, Iwan Lewis, Jodie Jacobs. Bottom: Ben Goddard, Bill Ward, Zizi Strallen.

Other West End stars taking part include: Sophie Evans (the Over the Rainbow contestant now taking over from nominee Danielle Hope as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz), Jodie Jacobs, Zizi Strallen (both in Rock of Ages), Melanie La Barrie (Matilda), Iwan Lewis (Godspell, Legally Blonde), Tiffany Graves (Sweet Charity, We Will Rock You, Chicago, Ben Goddard and Bill Ward (Million Dollar Quartet) and Dean Chisnall (Shrek

Proceedings are overseen by a team of celebrity hosts, who have included Christopher Biggins, Miranda Hart and James Corden in recent years and will this year be led by West End leading lady Sheridan Smith. There is nothing else like this in Theatreland.

Another Whatsonstage.com alumnus, Michael Ball, who has guest-presented at the Awards launch party twice before and is also a two-time Awards winner (for Hairspray and The Woman in White), will be speaking on behalf of this year’s adopted charity Stage One,

This year’s nominees include stars such as David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Tamsin Greig, Jude Law and Kevin Spacey, and massive West End blockbusters including Ghost the Musical, Shrek the Musical, Matilda the Musical, Wicked and One Man, Two Guvnors.

Please note: The winner will be contacted by Whatsonstage.com by email at the end of this auction and upon full payment. No travel or accommodation is included with this package. The package must be redeemed in person at the Prince of Wales Theatre at 7pm on Sunday 19 February 2012. No exchanges are possible.
