The updated energy conservation and air leakage requirements of building regs mean that a loft trap needs to be a high performance product. Site constructed traps are no longer adequate. Our loft access traps have been redesigned and re engineered under BS EN ISO 9001 ti meet these latest demands.
Each loft trap is a complete unit comprising frame and trap door, with interral closed cell air / vapour seals and thermal insulation.
The intergral seals significantly reduce water vapour migration into the loft space, reducing condensation risk.
The seals also virtually eliminate heat loss by air movement around the trap door and exceed the airtightness requirement of the approved documents, as demostrated by the test.
The traps provide continuity of thermal insulation at ceiling level, substantially reducing heat loss by conductiuon through the trap

Each loft access trap comprises, a frame which is fixed into trimmed opening and has a seal to the ceiling & a trap door which is thermally insulated and has a flexiable closed cell seal between door and frame
When fittd leave a smooth all round 50mm margin to ensure a good seal
LA1 Push Up Trap = The trap door is injection moulded polypropylene with phenolic insulation or expanded polystyrene infill and a black pvc back. Twin latches, and anti-wind uplift mechanism at the opposite end of the door, prevent the trap from becoming dislodged if there is severe wind gusting. Lightly textured scuff resistant white finish.
LA2 Hinge Down Trap = The trapdoor is injection moulded polypropylene with phenolic insulation or expanded polystyrene infill and a black pvc back, attached to the frame by two hinges. Twin latches hold the door against the closed call gaskets.Access pole supplied for opening.Lightly textured scuff resistant white finish
LA5 Push up square trap = The standard trap is 6mm stoved finish hardboard with expanded polystyrene infill and pvc back.matt white

We accept Paypal or Cheque only 90% of our deliveries going out to England, Wales and lower Scotland are delivered the next working day ( Excluding Bank Holidays and Weekends ), your item must be paid for before 2.30pm to receive this service. You must check all goods on arrival, if on a rare occasion you receive the goods damaged you must refuse the delivery.
TOOLSTOP RETURN PROCEDURE
Returning an item you have purchased by mistake or is the wrong size etc:
We will endeavour to provide as much information within the content of our product pages to allow you to make an informed decision on your purchase. However, should you require to return any product, we will allow you to do so within 7 days of the day after receipt. If you do this, please contact Tool stop on email@example.com quoting your original invoice number to be provided with a Return Material Authorisation (RMA) number. Tool stop will then e-mail you a returns form and you must fill this in and enclose with the returned goods. You will have to arrange the return of the goods yourself and track them using a reputable carrier. We ask that you do everything possible to ensure the goods are returned to us in good condition and if possible with their original packaging. Please include a copy of the complete returns form. We will refund the total cost of the goods.
Returning an item that is faulty If we have supplied an item that is faulty or goes faulty in the first 7 days of receipt we will supply you a returns form and we will arrange the uplift of the goods (Please put a copy of the returns form with the goods. ) Should we ( and sometimes the manufacturer ) upon receipt of said items be satisfied as to the alleged defects we will either replace the goods or arrange a refund of the full value of the goods and any carriage costs incurred.
Returning an item that we have supplied incorrectly: if we have supplied an item incorrectly we will arrange the uplift of the goods and have the correct item sent out at the same time. A returns form will still be emailed to you and we hope you would fill it in and send it back with the goods that are being returned.
If there is nobody at your delivery address you can instruct at the time of purchase us to leave it in the porch, or in the garden, leave with neighbour etc. However if you do this and the goods go missing or are damaged it is your responsibility and there will be no replacement or credit.
If there is nobody there to sign for the goods: Carrier attempt to deliver to your delivery address twice, and will put an attempted delivery card through your letter box if nobody is there to sign for the goods. If you are carded twice goods will then be sent back to Carrier local depot. You will then be emailed from our self’s where you will have the option to collect the goods from your local depot or we can arrange for a re-delivery which you will be charged for.
If you choose not to collect the goods or pay for the re delivered there will be a 2 way charge. Carrier charges us for trying to deliver the item and then charge us for returning the item. This charge will be passed onto you.
The delivery address: We ship all our goods to the PayPal address, but we can however change the address on your instruction at the time of order, however if you decide to change your delivery address after your goods have been despatched, there will be an extra delivery charge.
We reserve the right to charge a restocking charge of 20% if goods are returned outside 7 days period.
