Breakfast At Tiffany's by Truman Capote.

I am delighted to be able to offer a first edition, first UK printing of this iconic novel. One of Capote's finest.

Rarely does this book become avaliable to buy, especially a true 1st edition, such as this. The most common is the 1st US edition which has an orange dust cover.

The book is the basis for the Oscar-winning film starring Audrey Hepburn playing Holly Golightly, Capote's admitted favourite literary creation. Hepburn's portrayal of the naive, eccentric café society girl is generally considered to be the actress's most memorable and identifiable role. Hepburn regarded it as one of her most challenging roles, since she was an introvert required to play an extrovert.

Bound in paper-covered red cloth boards with silver gilt lettering. Complete with original unclipped dust wrapper which was designed by Patricia Davey. The dust wrapper has some discolouration, with some small tears, larger tear on spine. Internally, the pages are good condition, with some slight browning to edges. The binding is firm.

Published by Hamish Hamilton, London in 1958. In addition to the novel, which gives the volume it's title, are also three short stories which are appearing in book form for the first time: 'House of Flowers', 'A Diamond Guitar' and 'A Christmas Memory'. All four stories superbly demonstrate Truman Capote's genius for evoking mood, scene and world's within minds.
