 DESCRIPTION

A very stylish and rarely seen 1950s two seater sofabed/daybed newly upholstered in a stunning mustard upholstery fabric.

 

Featuring very simplistic, clean lines and perfect proportions. The sofa has unmistakably stylish 1950s splayed legs and is upholstered in a gorgeous mustard upholstery fabric which compliments the piece perfectly. A great feature of this piece is its adaptability, it quickly and simply transforms from a sofa into a daybed / sofabed. As shown in the photos the sofa back rests simply move around to each side making it into a small sofabed - perfect for visitors and afternoon snoozes!

A rare opportunity to own a beautiful mid-century sofa in superb restored condition that would make a great addition to any vintage/mid-century inspired interior.

DIMENSIONS 

As a sofa:

  • Length as a sofa: 121cm
  • Length as a bed: 210cm
  • Total depth: 66cm
  • Depth of mattress: 61cm
  • Total height (to top of back cushion): 83cm
  • Height to seat: 40cm

CONDITION

  • All upholstery and foam has been newly replaced by a professional upholsterer.
 
  • The framework and spring system is all structurally sound.
 
  • There may be some minor polished in marks to the framework as to be expected for age, there is a minor repair to one of back supports, a split that has been professionally repaired, this is shown in the last photograph, this part of the back support is always hidden from view as it is the part that slots into the hole but we always like to point out any repairs/damage. 

COLLECTION

  • Collections are welcome by prior arrangement, and we will always try to be as flexible as possible with dates/times.
  • We are located very close to both the M40/M1 Motorway networks, and the M6 is just ten minutes away.
  • Items should be collected within 2 weeks of the auction end. We try to be as flexible as possible, so please contact us for more information.

    SHIPPING

    • If you would like to collect in person or arrange your own courier that is no problem - as long as it is collected within 2 weeks of the sale date. Items can only be stored for longer by PRIOR ARRANGEMENT - so please contact us before buying. 
    • We work with some excellent couriers, so if you need help arranging a courier, please contact us with your postcode and we'll provide you with a quote and put you in touch once you buy an item. We are happy to recommend couriers who deliver regularly to London and most other major towns/cities in the UK mainland. Delivery should usually take up to two weeks (London deliveries usually within seven working days if suitable day/time can be arranged). If you live in a remote area or need an item sooner, please contact us before buying for more information.

    • We sell to mainland UK buyers only, unfortunately we can not prepare items for shipment overseas.
    • We accept PayPal or if collecting in person we will also accept cash (within seven days of purchase date).
