Rare First Edition FROM TEE to CUP 1937 Golf Book - Signed by RALPH GULDAHL

This rare book will be a treasured find for any golfer or book collector! This is a 1937 First Edition of "From Tee to Cup" by the Four Masters: Gene Sarazen, Denny Shute, Ralph Guldahl & Johnny Revolta. The book is signed in fountain pen by Ralph Guldahl on the title page.

The small hardcover was published by Wilson Sporting Goods & is 64 pages in length, loaded with photos. It is a "how to" book for golfers looking to improve their game, with help from the Masters. The four authors each wrote an individual chapter, and collaborated on the others, save for the Supplement, which was written by Helen Hicks. Chapter titles are: Woods, Long Irons, Short Irons, Scoring Zone, Putting, Puzzle Shots & the Supplement. The text is accompanied by photos & an unusual photo technique is the freeze-frame style movie camera images along the page ends, to show the proper motion, move by move.

The book measures 7.25" tall by 5.25" wide. It has an embossed green faux leather cover, with embossed title, byline & graphics. It is in very good condition. The binding is tight, interior pages are clean & free of tears, creases or stains. No previous owners names, bookplates, or writing, save for Ralph Guldahl's signature. Minor & insignificant signs of age include: a very slight depression on the front cover. Minor spotting on the back cover, very slight foxing on first few pages, light surface wear to a couple of cover corners.  Good luck on this rare book!

Ralph Guldahl: Guldahl was a top golfer between 1936-1940. He joined the pro circuit in 1931. Before the age of 20 he had won an event in his rookie season, setting a record that wasn't broken until 2013. In 1933 at the age of 21 he finished second in the US Open, narrowly missing the title. He won the prestigious Western Open in 1936 & again in 1937 and 1938. Guldahl won 3 major championships & claimed the US Open in 1937 & 1938. His golf swing started to fail him when he began to write golfing books. Those closest to him attributed his decline to the fact that he was over-analyzing his swing & thus losing his game. He retired from professional golf in the early 1940's.
