Item specifics

Condition: Good : Split the cost with friends
A book that has been read, but is in good condition. Minimal damage to the book cover eg. scuff marks, but no holes or tears. If this is a hard cover, the dust jacket may be missing. Binding has minimal wear. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. No highlighting of text, no writing in the margins, and no missing pages. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections. See all condition definitions- opens in a new window or tab
Seller notes: Well read, well thumbed original copy. Scuffed cover and corners and yellowed pages and slightly damaged spine at very top and very bottom but not in between. All there though and perfectly readable with no notes or markings added. Just the aging and signs of a well loved well read book as they should be!

Description
Author BiographyHarry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was J.K. Rowling's first novel, followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, as well as two books written specifically for Comic Relief and based on the Harry Potter novels: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages. The Harry Potter novels have now sold over 325 million copies worldwide and been translated into 64 languages. J.K. Rowling has generated huge popular appeal for her books across the generations in an unprecedented fashion: she was the first children's author to be voted the BA Author of the Year, and also to win the British Book Awards Author of the Year.
PrizesWinner of Whitaker Platinum Book Award 2001 and Smarties Book Prize Gold Award 1997 and Smarties Book Prize 9-11 Category 1997. Runner-up for The BBC Big Read Top 100 2003. Shortlisted for LA Carnegie Medal 1998 and Guardian Children's Fiction Award 1998 and Carnegie Medal 1998 and Children's Book Award: Long Novel Category 1998 and BBC Big Read Top 100 2003.

Well read by me, all four of my brothers, my parents and two of my own children but all there, all original and definitely a 14th print run first edition.

Bears the signs of a well loved read but also the signs that set it apart as a genuine First Edition: Joanne Rowling; missed space between 'R' and '1997' on the illustrator detail and the younger, brown haired wizard on the back cover. See the detail page in the pictures attached.

This one bears a gold sticker declaring it a '1997 Gold Award Winner Ages 9-11' and a Sunday Telegraph quote along the bottom: "...this is a terrific book".

Take a look at the pics to see these details and also to understand the condition which I've done my best to describe above. Happy to send further close up pics by request but please no time wasters. If it doesn't sell for the right price it'll go back in a box and get passed on to my kids to read to theirs.

Mailing cost is a best estimate and I will refund any difference as soon as I have posted and know the actual cost.

Happy bidding!
