1925, First Edition, First impression. John Buchan's fine history of this great Scottish regiment, detailing its involvement in battle from Blenheim to the end of World War I. The Royal Scots Fusiliers were amalgamated with the Highland Light Infantry (HLI) City of Glasgow Regiment in 1959, to form The Royal Highland Fusiliers. [Princess Margaret's Own Glasgow and Ayrshire Regiment]. The regular 1st battalions of the two Regiments combined at Redford Barracks Edinburgh, to form the 1st battalion of the new regiment (1 RHF).

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A Very Good copy of this Scarce John Buchan title, in original bright red cloth, spine titled in gilt, and upper board with gilt regimental badge design. Inner pages clean with just a touch of toning, free of any previous owner names or Inscriptions. The cloth boards showing signs of some marking but overall are clean with good corners, spine faded as is common with this volume, but with good lettering. Octavo, Published by Thomas Nelson and Sons Ltd, London. (September) 1925. Full page or folding maps, [one folding map detached but still present, with small tear, no loss] smaller maps in text, 12 plates (3 coloured) Overall a sound and attractive copy.
