Black leather and metal helmet with 2 opening mica windows with a soft leather neck guard that drops below the helmet with 2 leather draw strings to tighten around the wearers neck and shoulders. Two air tubes enter the face mask on either side of the helmet.
The helmet would be attached to an extension pipe connected to a Siebe Gorman Bellow Air Pump operated by foot. Using a system of tugs and pulls they would communicate how much air to pump to them. 1 tug meant more air, 2 tugs less air and 3 tugs help me out, the brass instruction plate that accompanies the mask attaches to the chain.
Inscription on the Forehead name plate reads; "Everything for safety everywhere, Siebe Gorman & Co Ltd, London S.E.1, Manufacturers of Mine and Industrial Safety Appliances.
