Rickenbacker 330 Maple Glow Electric Guitar c/w Hard Shell Case
Rickenbacker's sweeping hollow body shapes were quite different to the designs of their competitors back in the late '50s. As with the other big established names they have stood the test of time. A lot of their models, including the 330 have changed little over 50 years proving beyond doubt that along with Leo Fender they pretty much got it right the first time around.
Amongst the guitars that Rickenbacker produce the Rickenbacker 330 is probably the best known due to its long list of famous users including; Pete Townsend, Paul Weller, George Harrison and many, many more.
The body is made from Maple whilst the neck is a laminate of Maple and Walnut with unbound (lacquered) Rosewood Fret board, inlaid with small white dot position markers and 24 medium sized frets. The 3 a side headstock has Rickenbacker's name emblazed across it and Schaller machine heads take care of tuning duties. Mounted to the body is a pair of Rickenbacker's Hi Gain single coil pickups.
The controls are located on the lower layer of the split level white plastic scratch plate. They comprise of individual tone and volume controls for each pickup plus Rickenbacker's famous Blend Control and a three-way toggle pick up selection switch. The bridge houses six individual saddles concealed by a chrome cover whilst the strings are anchored to Rickenbacker's classic R logo chrome tailpiece.
