Sublime 21st Century Paris Haute Couture Fantasy Dream Wedding Dress by Torrente
Designed by Julien Fournie for Torrente for the Fall 2004 Paris Runway Collection based on dreams and phobias
This is a spectacular and utterly sublime one-off creation acquired from and finished the 'fall' 2004 Paris Runway collection by Torrente designed by Julien Fournie.
Both Torrente and individual French Designer Julien Fournie have acquired the honour of haute couture status and this is an extremely rare and sublime acquisition from this collection based on dreams and facing phobias, from which the dress is 'dream' inspired weddings, with inspiration from fashion history and fantasy.
The dress is sublime in design, cut, styling, inspiration, and movement and is a spectacular example of 21st Century Paris Haute Couture wedding dress encrusted with the most beautiful amber and glass-look cluster of 'in-flight' individual Lalique crystal butterflies broaches.
The cloth is cut from 3 silks, exquisitely cut and tailored, contoured multi panelled into the most perfect hourglass silhouette, with remarkable exaggerated military inspired leg o' mutton stylised sleeves in pale gold satin stripes, and mermaid style back train. From the runway collection you can see the perfect movement in the dress which is perfectly executed from the cut and choice of it's incredible fabrics.
The main dress is a cream matt silk, cut with simple collar, buttoned bodice, hourglass silhouette and stunning mermaid hemline. The cut and tailoring is exquisite and forms a perfect flattering fit and creates beautiful movement and fluidity on the dress. The dress is cut from contoured panels from collar to hemline enhancing the perfect proportions of the classic hourglass shape. Buttoned bodice, with sleeves cut high into the arm raglan style with the seam running close to the collar.
The one colour, simply styled main dress is perfect as backdrop or canvas for the beautiful 38 Lalique crystal butterflies, positioned in aggregated clusters to produce an almost in-flight or movement. These are all individual broaches attached to gold plated engraved clasps that are attached by individual silk threads to the dress. They do move due to the single thread attachment and clips and the colours are a dreamy amber and glass look that complement the main colour schemes based on golds and creams, seen through the multi golds banded satins on the sleeves, with the buttons a deep gold faceted 'glass' button central to the main bodice and sleeves; the military inspired braiding and tassels in a deep gold.
The main dress is hourglass cut, with high neck simple collar, and flared multi panelled skirt that simply falls as an hourglass statuette to the front and cut superbly to the back to produce a classic mermaid style. Individual panels inserted in the central back skirt to increase the cut and flare for the styling.
The sleeves are spectacular 'leg o' mutton' style with huge volume and pleats to the shoulders, bolstered by internal fabric support to hold the style, and finished at the elbow in straight, buttoned sleeves with invisible zip fastenings.
The dress is fully lined in a luxurious silk liquid white satin with invisible tailoring.
There is only one in existence and this is a truly original unique and spectacular haute couture garment, future collectable and very wearable.
