FOR SALE IS MY VERY VERY RARE SAAB 99 TURBO EMS COMBI


ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITE "HOWMANYLEFT.COM" WHICH USES DVLA INFORMATION THERE ARE ONLY 15 OF THESE CARS LEFT IN THE COUNTRY!

I BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST YEAR FROM THE ORIGNINAL OWNER WHO OWNED THE CAR SINCE 1978! UNFORTUNETLY DUE TO ILL HEALTH HE HAD TO PART WITH IT, WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IT HAD NOT BEEN USED FOR AROUND 8 YEARS, SO ONCE I GOT THE CAR TRAILERED HOME THE WORK BEGAN !

THE CAR HAS HAD NEW HEADLINING, REPLACMENT FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS, FULL BRAKE BLEED, OIL AND FILTER CHANGE, IT ALSO NEEDED SOME MINOR WELDING ON THE OUTER SILLS, IM SURE THERE ARE OTHER THINGS IVE DONE AND CANT REMEMBER ! 

ALL THIS HAS NOW BEEN DONE AND THE CAR HAS JUST PASSED THE MOT,
I HAVE CONCERTRATED ON DOING THE THINGS TO GET THE CAR ROADWORTHY RATHER THAN THE AESTETICS,
 
PLEASE REMEMBER THE CAR IS 34 YEARS OLD AND IS SHOWING SIGNS OF AGE, IT DOES HAVE SOME RUST AROUND THE BODY IN VARIOUS PLACES, THE WORST BEING THE BOTTOM OF THE PASSENGER DOOR, THIS WILL EITHER NEED A BIG REPAIR OR IDEALLY A NEW ONE, THE RUST CAN ONLY BEEN SEEN WHEN ON YOUR KNEES THOUGH AS THE LOWER BODY PANELS COVER IT, THERE IS A SMALL BIT OF RUST ON THE O/S/R ARCH AND N/S/F ARCH, FRONT PANEL AND REAR PANEL, TAILGATE AND AROUND THE  FRONT SCREEN, MOST OF THIS RUST IS PRETTY MINOR COSMETIC BITS BUT NEEDS MENTIONING

THIS IS PROBABLY MAKING THE CAR SOUND ALOT WORSE THAN IT IS BUT I WANT TO BE HONEST AND NOT GIVE ANYONE THE WRONG IMPRESSION OF THE CAR, OVERALL THE CAR IS PRETTY SOLID AND PRESENTABLE BUT NOT PERFECT, SAME GOES FOR THE PAINTWORK, IT SHINES UP NICELY BUT IS NOT PERFECT AND DOES HAVE SOME DEFECTS

AS YOU CAN SEE THE INTERIOR IS IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION APART FROM THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT WHICH WILL NEED RECOVERING TO MAKE PERFECT, THIS CAN BE SEEN ON THE PICS ALSO SOMETHING WILL NEED TO BE DONE WITH THE PARCEL SHELF AS ITS SAGGING SLIGHTLY

AS FOR THR ENGINE, IT RUNS WELL AND SOUNDS AND DRIVES PRETTY WELL FOR ITS AGE, THE TURBO KICKS IN FINE AND IT GOES INTO ALL GEARS NO PROBLEM, THE CAR ALSO HAS SOME TANKS AND BADGED BY ABBOTT RACING UNDER THE BONNET SO I THINK IT MAY HAVE BEEN BREATHED IN AT SOMETIME IN THE PAST !
IT ALSO HAS A FULL STAINLESS STEEL SPORTS EXHAUST WHICH GIVES A NICE EXHAUST NOTE

THE ONLY PROBLEM I KNOW OF AS FAR AS THE ENGINE GOES IS THAT THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN DOES NOT CUT IN, I HAD ALL THIS WORKING BUT RECENTLY HAS STOPPED WORKING, IVE FITTED A NEW THERMOSTAT AND RAN FAN SWITCH, I HAVE LOOKED AT THE FUESES AND ITS BLOWN SO IM ASSUMING ITS SOMTHING SIMPLE LIKE A WIRING SHORTING OUT SOMEWHERE, UNFORMTUNETLY I JUST DONT HAVE THE TIME TO FIND IT AS IM GETTING MARRIED LATER IN THE YEAR AND HAVE SOME PLANNING TO DO !  HENCE THE SALE

OVERALL IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING A BIT DIFFERENT THATS INCREDIBLY RARE, THAT NEEDS A LITTLE WORK THEN THIS IS FOR YOU, THE CAR IS MOTED BUT NOT TAXED SO REALLY IT WOULD NEED TRAILING AWAY ALSO I WOULD RECOMMEND TRAILING DUE TO THE FAN PROBLEM
