7” x 17” Rial Viper
Here we have for sale a set of
4 alloy wheels. They are the stunning “Viper” edition alloy wheels,
manufactured by premier German wheel designer “Rial”. They are called “Viper”
as they are a very similar style to the wheels fitted to the original Dodge
Viper in the USA.
These silver/grey alloy
wheels are 7” wide and 17” tall. They are 4 stud wheels with a “PCD” of 4 x 100.
The “PCD” is the industry standard measurement from the centre of a wheel nut
hole, across the centre cap, to the centre of the wheel nut hole opposite. These
wheels here are a 4 x 100 meaning they are a 4-stud fitment with a measurement
of 100mm across from hole to hole.
A 4 x 100 PCD is the most
common stud pattern for car manufacturers, for example some models of Honda,
Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Vauxhall, BMW-Mini, Rover, VW, Seat and Toyota.
Despite all these
manufacturers using the same 4 x100 PCD, they generally have a different centre
bore, which is the measurement across the centre hole where the wheel locates over
the hub of your car before being bolted on. These wheels have a centre bore of 63.4mm
which is designed purposely slightly bigger than the centre bore of your car.
This allows the fitment of specific plastic “spigot rings” to tailor the wheels
specifically to fit your particular car’s centre bore. These spigot rings are
available on Ebay for approx £5 for most car models, or alloy wheel suppliers
like Halfords etc. These wheels have been fitted to my Honda Civic which has a
centre bore of 56.1mm, so they come with spigot rings for a Honda centre bore.
The wheels have an offset of
ET38. The level of offset determines how far in or out of the wheel arch the
wheels sits. An ET38 offset is about average and is suitable for most cars.
The wheels idealy
require refurbished. The have been given a partial re-paint at some stage but this is
flaking off in some places. All the wheels have been curbed, but 2 of the
wheels have been very badly curbed with rough edges all the way round.
There are no cracks or splits
on the wheels. 2 of the wheels have flat-spotted areas on the inside of the
rims. These flat-spots cause no vibration or issues with tyre sealing or leaks
etc. I had them on my Civic with no issues at all. For total peace of mind, you
could put both flat-spotted wheels on the back of your car.
The wheels ideally
need refurbished, but you could use them as they are if you are on a budget to
modify your car or just need some wheels for track days etc. They are a
stunning classic design, they just need a bit of TLC.
I have these wheels advertised
locally. If you wish to view the wheels prior to the auction ending at my home
in Stirling, please call 07855 235 190.
Good luck! Happy
