by Pete Springate

2014 1st edition. Quarto (i.e., large) 373 page hardback. Colour photographs, b/w illustrations by Suzanne Lane and Ian Webber.
Mint new unread hardback in dust-wrapper.

This is the second in Pete Springate's proposed three volume autobiography.

"From the capture of a record-shaking Wraysbury carp, to the loss of a river monster that still leaves him shaking; from the birth of his first child, Kat, to the death of his Mum and Dad, these highs and lows don’t just involve his fishing, but have an equal impact in all facets of his life - as they do for all of us."

"This book details Pete's journey from wild, uncharted inland seas, to wild, untamed British rivers, and the many lessons you need to learn if you want to become, not only a highly respected carp angler, but a hugely successful specimen hunter."

"Massive bream and tench from large, windswept lakes are greeted with as much joy as specimen-sized roach and barbel from winding, Sussex rivers. But through it all, carp are the pinnacle for Pete, and he reaches that pinnacle in both size and quality on numerous occasions. In more ways than one, the journey that Pete takes us on is strewn with pitfalls and boulders, and the eventual destination is tantalisingly out of sight, but have no doubt, this is a journey we all need to take if we want to reach one of those pinnacles. Pete, as ever, is still pioneering."

The book includes a great deal on Wraysbury and Horton along with various Colne Valley pits and Sussex rivers such as the Arun and Rother.

A great read.

UK POSTAGE is built in to the price. It costs £2.50 for the first book, and for the second; after that we refund you £2.00 for each and every book, provided you order them all at one go. We will combine separate orders, but you must contact us immediately to arrange this. If we have already dispatched one of your orders by the time you contact us, unfortunately, we cannot do anything about it.

£2.50 is included in the price of each book to cover postage. PARCELS BELOW 2KG are sent by Royal Mail, and will normally be delivered by the postman, 3 - 5 days after despatch.

PARCELS OVER 2KG are sent by Royal Mail’s Tracked Service. A TRACKING NUMBER is provided with all such orders. The parcel will be delivered the NEXT WORKING DAY, or in some parts of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Scilly, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands, the SECOND WORKING DAY.

OVERSEAS POSTAGE is charged by weight, at cost and is generally sent by Airmail. The postage quoted on this listing has been reduced by £2.50 to account for the £2.50 already included in the price of the book (as explained above).

US CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE! Airmail parcels entering the USA are inspected by HOMELAND SECURITY. This can include opening the mail sack. Parcels to US addresses can therefore be delayed and sometimes take up to four weeks. We must ask US customers to be very patient - we have now sent out many replacement parcels only to see the original arrive before the replacement. In our experience (30 years, tens of thousands of parcels), almost NO parcels are ever actually lost.

ALL CUSTOMERS, EVERYWHERE, please allow at least 14 days before contacting us to chase up your order.

(In the UK the Royal Mail will not declare a parcel lost & take action before 14 days has elapsed. Overseas, postal services vary in efficiency from country to country. The Irish and the Japanese post offices seem quite good, for example, the Germans less so, and South Africa the slowest by a long way.)
