STARTRITE 352 BANDSAW IN EXCELLENT FULLY WORKING CONDITION. 240Volt SINGLE phase model.
Complete with original tool (locates on machine) and set of keys for cabinet locks. Adjustable blade tension, with setting chart. Power button switch and foot brake. Fantastic Cast Iron table with tilt, and adjustable sliding solid steel side fence. The advantage of cast iron is it provides a true and flat surface which is far more rigid than aluminium tables.
This saw is about the single most useful piece of equipment your workshop can have! The Startrite 352 is truly an excellent machine. Totally dependable and designed to last a lifetime it will cope with any job you can throw at it - whether it is cutting very fine and intricate shapes or blocking out thick timbers. It is a reasonable size and does not take up too much room but is big enough for almost any job including most materials.
The 352 has a traditional blade guide system (rather than roller bearings), but set correctly it is very accurate indeed. The advantage over bearings is a simpler set up, and better visibility of the cutting area. Blades are widely available in various widths and tooth types from very fine to very course. You can upgrade if you feel the need but I would not bother, this is as accurate as you will ever need. Use the correct blade for the job and you will never have a problem. Ours has had the blade backstops replaced a year or so ago (which have a special carbon front edge) and a spare is provided incase another is ever needed.
The 352 also has an incredible depth of cut for the size of machine - about 260mm! The width is also excellent at about 320mm between blade and frame. Few modern machines can offer anything like this capacity. The frame of these machines is very rigid.
Our workshop has now closed but this machine has helped make some very fine furniture! (We produced high end one offs, and this machine has had very light use and been meticulously looked after). It comes with an assortment of blades, some new some used. It has many years use left in it and is adaptable to a wide range of tasks.
Located in London E14. It will be available for collection only, and while I do not anticipate anyone could be anything but impressed with this machine you are reminded you are bidding to buy, not to have a look.
I need the machine collected within 5 days of auction close date. It is located on the second floor, stairs and electric hoist if need be. You will need to be willing to shift it. I would guess it weighs around 70kg.
Good luck. Hope it finds a good new home! Feel free to ask questions.
