This is a superb top quality Record Player a Bush "SRP31" fully restored & serviced to as new working condition! finished in stylish chocolate & cream with a red lid interior, The turntable is a quality Garrard RC121MK2 in cream,  a textured cloth is on the front panel, playing speeds of 16, 33, 45 & 78rpm & record sizes of 7" 10" & 12", about 8 records can be stacked & will then be played in turn or manually if prefered, three controls are mounted on the front one a combined on/off volume, a treble , & best of all a bass!  there is a red pilot light that comes on whenever the player is switched on.

The Bush SRP31 is the first model in the great SRP31 series of players it dates from July 1959 as an internal stamp confirms this! 1959 was the first year of production so this is one of the first made, Bush made expensive quality players that were very well made with top amplifiers & won quite a few awards back in the day for top players! they cost more than all but the very best Dansettes! they also benifit from having two speakers one the main speaker & the other a tweeter!!

If you are lucky enough to own another Bush SRP31 they can be connected together to produce stereo sound, they simply connect via a coaxial cable & hey presto you have stereo sound! I have two for stereo reproduction in my own collection & its truly fantastic to hear stereo from the valve amplifiers! I also have a Bush SRP31D for sale right now & the two could be linked together for stereo sound!

This "SRP31" has been stripped & cleaned inside & out, the colours are not faded but are once again bright & vibrant the rexine is the original with NO recovering! its not mint but after 54 years its condition is very good! many hours have been put in to restore this to its 1959 glory! the brass latches & hinges are original & are rust free & almost look new (please note the marks you see on the chrome are reflections)! being an early model this one features the often missing superb brass Bush christmas tree badge (see picture four).

The valve amplifier has been serviced with any out of spec components being replaced, a common fault today with these players are failed rectifiers this causes low output & bass response, If you own or are thinking of buying any Bush SRP31 player & it still has the original rectifier fitted then i can say with 100% certantiy IT WILL NOT WORK AS IT SHOULD as no matter how much or little use the player has had these components just simply dont work after 50+ years! I have replaced the recifier so now its got its as new powefull output! also a few capacitors have been changed to get the amp back to as new condition, a earthed mains cable is fitted, a 3amp correct fuse is fitted to the plug, its fitted with a new stereo compatible cartridge so ALL records of any age can be played! a new lp45/78 stylus is fitted, The turntable has been lubricated & works as it should on ALL speeds as does the autochanger it starts drops & plays records perfectly! there is no crackle from the volume treble or bass controls that are fully responsive!

This is a great chance to own a iconic vintage player the Bush SRP31 is a very well made player its got a great sound & is ideal for vintage or not so vintage records & truly sums up the era perfectly, it would make a fantastic center peice in any room, it should also prove to be a sound investment.

I will provide a copy of the players instructions & turntable operating instructions.

The player will be well packed for delivery or it can be picked up if prefered I have sold many vintage record players with 100% positive feedback so bid with confidence.

Many thanks for looking..
