Hi, welcome to the auction for my VW Sand Rail.
Before i start please not that the engine is NOT included in the sale. I believe this buggy is based on a UVA Fugitive frame but i can not confirm this. In the last 10 months this buggy has been completely stripped to its individual components. The chassis has been sand blasted, then all the welds checked and rewelded if necessary. Powder coated with a zinc primer and then 2 coats of yellow powder coat. The front beam, rear trailing arms and wheels have also been sand blasted and then powder coated so all are like new. There are a lot of brand new parts on this buggy, including the seats, brakes, cables, brake lines, master cylinders, every single ball joints, steering box. The gearbox is a recon unit. Everything has been cleaned up and repainted in black. It looks really smart. The vehicle has a current V5 but is not presently MOT'd as it is not quite finished. To finish it only requires a few small thing, these are, bleed the brakes, adjust the handbrakes, finish the wiring for the lighting. The ignition wiring is complete and works. Fit the accelerator cable. Add an engine and thats the lot. Then you can take it down the testing station. I do have the previous MOT certificate which expired in FEB 2011. Bidders beware this it not the best for anyone over 6ft with the current seats in it. If you fit thin based seats you will be just fine. This is a real eye catcher, you dont see many around any more. People who see it on my drive are always stopping to ask about it. A lot of time and money has already been invested in this project. A really easy project for someone to finish off and have some great fun with!!! It will need trailering away!! Any questions please feel free to ask. On 22-Jun-12 at 23:07:30 BST, seller added the following information: Few people have asked me about the v5. On the v5 the vehicle is listed as a historic vehicle, saloon, yellow, 1584cc The chassis plate on the vehicle matches the v5 also. On 26-Jun-12 at 19:04:16 BST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention this buggy is tax exempt. Which makes it all the sweeter! |
