I am selling this nice old 1930 first edition hardback volume of Sapper's War Stories, published by Hodder & Stoughton.
The introduction says it's the Definitive edition of Sapper's war stories. At the request of his Publishers he has collected and re-arranged into one volume all the war stories he has written for the time of "Michael Cassidy".
The book was made and printed in Great Britain by The Camelot Press Ltd.
There's a label on the inside for King Edward VI College in Stourbridge, founded in 1430 and was known as The Chantry School of Holy Trinity and it bears the coat of arms of the school on the front cover.
The book was awarded to a pupil in Form III in July 1930 for Chemistry and it is signed by the Headmaster.
The book measures 7 1/2 inches by 5 1/8 inches by 2 1/4 inches and it comprises 1054 pages plus cover pages.
The condition is good; the leather bound board covers have scuffs and marks and the top and bottom of the spine have a couple of nicks.
A few of the inside cover pages have tears and creases, but overall it is nice and clean and in fine fettle for the age.
It would be a super addition to any collection or library, excellent display piece, or authentic period prop.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
