This item is sturdy and the slots seem accurate, giving a wide range of cutting options. The walls are an ideal height for my use - cutting fret slots using a rigid backed guitar saw when making various stringed instruments. I have two criticisms that don't bother me much, but are worth knowing about. First, the base is slightly bowed upwards at the ends. Secondly, one of the vertical walls extends below the base, which is useful for holding the box steady against the edge of a workbench. However, with the box positioned this way, the only 90 degree slot is on the left hand end - great for left-handed people, but a bit awkward for me. But there's no problem that can't be overcome easily. The bowing and the orientation issues are both resolved by bolting a piece of 10mm MDF on the base using the screw holes provided and fitting a wood strip on the opposite side of the base, thereby placing the 90 degree slot on the right when held against the edge of a workbench. Overall, a useful tool.Read full review

Bought it to sort out some pieces of wood that needed to go together on 45 degree angle. My old mitre box had gone awol after 20 years of use. Good: light weight, and does what it says on the box Bad: light weight. It is a bit flimsy and the plastic is way too thin to expect it to last more than a few uses. The slots where you saw have already started to be shaven off.
