Special Service Medal (Visesh Seva Padak) with ‘Sri Lanka’ clasp, attributed, Sikh Light Infantry

 

Circular cupro-nickel medal attributed on the edge to ‘4453902 NK. G. SINGH, SLI’; on original ribbon.

The medal was instituted in 1986 to recognise special military service. The ‘Sri Lanka’ clasp was awarded for participation in Operation Pawan, a peacekeeping mission in northern and eastern Sri Lanka, from 1987 to 1990.

To date, this is the only clasp awarded with the medal.
