Sterling Silver Teapot, Queen Anne style - Antique George VI

A fine and impressive antique George VI Irish sterling silver teapot in the Queen Anne style; part of our silverware collection

This impressive antique George VI Irish sterling silver teapot has a plain compressed form in the Queen Anne style.

This fine teapot is supported by a colet foot.

The teapot is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest depicting a stag's head erased above the Latin motto 'Spectemur Agendo'* - 'Let us be viewed by our actions'.

The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged domed cover.

The cover retains the original carved wood and sterling silver bun style finial.

This fine teapot is fitted with a scrolling carved wood handle.

*The crest and motto is that of the family of Vigors - further information available on request or on purchase of teapot.

This antique teapot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

This George VI teapot has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved crest is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the teapot and part hallmarks struck to the cover are slightly rubbed but remain legible.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.

Height to top of finial 15cm/5.8"
