What do reviewers say?
"The Xcape doesn’t just share aesthetic themes with the HiFiMan RE0 and RE-ZERO but quite a few aspects of its sound as well. All of the things that made the RE0 a brilliant mid-range earphone are present in the Xcape – clarity, detail, separation, and cohesiveness are all up there with the very best in the price range. As with the RE0, nothing is out of place with or missing from the sound of the Xcape but Sunrise did tune the earphone to set it apart from the HiFiMan models, giving it a warmer and thicker sound and tilting the balance slightly away from the treble." - ljokerl
"The overall sound signature is neutral with slight warmness. Bass is not large, but shows present and impact when needed. Mid is slightly full and gives a slightly sweet and well texture vocal. Treble is well extended and smooth while retains a decent amount of sparkle. Soundstage is about average. While nothing seems to stand out, the quantity of each elements are well balanced to make this IEM neither overly exciting nor too boring." - ClieOS
"The Sunrise SW-Xcape in-ears feature a well balanced presentation with a slight emphasis on bass and midrange. This makes them sound very good with a large variety of music. The treble is dialed down to a less obtrusive amount compared to the RE0s and it makes them slightly more forgiving with poorly mastered tracks and non-ideal sources." - techpowerup
"I really like the midrange of the Xcape. Vocals are sweet and very pleasant to listen to especially if you listen to a lot of female vocalists. The midrange is a bit forward but not overly so. The midrange as a whole is fairly detailed and relatively smooth not having any major peaks". - rawrster
"Any day I will prefer Xcape to both RE0 and RE-ZERO. [...] I finally have the satisfactory bass with subtle (if any)
loss of other qualities. Yes, mids of RE0 and highs of RE-Zero are tad
better. But I had to amp them to shine. Unamped, RE0 is slower and
RE-Zero is dryer in comparison to Xcape. [...] It rather suggests alternative sound signature with more body and fun at
the expense of some very subtle details. This is what I prefer, so
Xcape is better all-rounder to me. And it keeps this advantage either it
is amped or not. When amped, Xcape also improves on SQ, like REs do,
and keeps a parity." - kostalex
The Impressive Edition has mostly the same design with Sunrise SW-Xcape II except a slight difference in Box and Housing (see photos).
Same designed Y-split
