This letterbox cage is great for stopping my son's cat from eating and running away with our post! It was a little fiddly to fit on our UPVC front door; you have to loosen the screws on the letterbox and slide the cage behind it, then tighten the screws back up again. The problem was that our door is not flat and so the top and bottom of the cage were not flush with the door or the letterbox. We managed to get it to fit with a little bit of wiggling it about and some gentle force. You will need a short screwdriver to tighten the screws, because you have to screw the screws back into the letterbox from inside the cage and there isn't much room. Once on though it is tight and secure and catches our post perfectly. You can easily access your post by lifting the lid on the top. I would definitely recommend this letterbox cage to anyone with cheeky pets that like to eat your post!Read full review

Whilst this product is well made, the reason I would not recommend it is because it restricts the door opening too much. I placed this on the door and once it is opened and the cage is touching the wall, the door is only about 50% open. This is impractical and therefore I cannot recommend anyone to buy this as it's just not practical in most homes where the door opens against a wall.

I pupurchased his because my dogs don't like my mail dropping on the floor. Its a good size and holds magazines and a reasonable amount of letters. It looks ok too. The mail is simply lifted out from the lid at the top. It's not massive so would require emptying regularly. If your door opens against a wall, or part wall like mine, you will need to put a door stopper behind to prevent it fully opening and squashing the box. Also, many doors now are uPVC which have protruding moulded designs i.e. the doors are not flat/flush, do the box has nothing to screw to. To rectify this problem.... I cut 2 pieces of wood to fit to the top and bottom of the box. I screwed the box to the wood and to prevent screwing jokes into my uPVC door I stuck the wood (with box attached) onto the door with NoMoreNails sticky strips. It stuck very well, looks neat and saves having nasty holes drilled into expensive plastic doors. The manufacturer's of these boxes needs to realise that most modern doors are not wood, so can't be screwed into AND most have fancy moulded designs so they are not flat or flush. The manufacturer's need to design something to fit inside of modern uPVC doors. I definitely didn't want a mail collection box on the outside of my home so I improvised with this. It worked, it is a sturdy box, it looks natural against the white plastic door, its easily accessible - it does the job is meant to do.Read full review

arrived on time, well packed and looks good and strong but I still haven't got it installed. Talk about monkey see monkey do; well this monkey can't make head or tail of it but it has been good fun getting everyone that comes around try to solve the puzzle. I think it needs instructions with it.
