The TEAC sounds very good, it gives most or all the features that we usually need, it is a bit dated I guess, but then a lot of us have an iPod & cd's. The radio works well having presets, which of course are essential in my mind, with the number of stations available, both on DAB & FM. The remote is quite easy to use, as are the controls on the unit itself, but most of the time the remote is far more convenient. Overall I would say that the TEAC is a good unit, especially if you are perhaps limited for space, I would recommend this unit. Many thanks.

I bought this product because I wanted another identical to one I have already. I purchased my first teac CX200IDAB about 3 years ago for my dining room after hearing the exceptional sound quality from one playing in a small cafe and have been absolutely delighted with it since buying it. It is compact with neat unobtrusive speakers (what I was looking for)and the sound is exceptional. After recently completing our conservatory I decided to try and find a similar sound system to use there. After much searching I found an identical system on ebay and again I'm delighted with everything about it. I think this particular version has been upgraded since I bought my first 3 years ago hence my difficulty finding an identical one. I'm sure the upgraded versions will be equally as good but it was worth my search for me to find exactly what I was looking for.Read full review
Good points; build quality, small enough and slim enough to hide on a shelf. Very easy to plug and play. Most basic functions available without remote control (see below). Being Teac the sound is probably very good (see below). Bad points; Make sure you buy the system with the remote control - The sound quality cannot be altered without it! Whoever had mine last, loved the 'cotton wool in ears sound' and I can't alter it! Writing on the buttons is so small I cant read it without glasses. I'm forever pressing the wrong buttons. Getting the CD in the draw vertically, is fiddly.

I was looking for a Hi-Fi unit small enough to sit on my desk, as I have my laptop plugged into it for the audio, but big enough to have a bit of a kick to it... This Teac unit fits the bill and then some. The speakers are so thin you would wonder how they remain upright... Thanks to a bracket at the rear of the speaker they remain in place very nicely thank you, and with the bass unit which sits on the floor under my desk you get amazing sound quality... D.A.B and FM radio cover most eventualities.. The CD drawer opens at a jaunty angle which is good fun.. Haven't gotten round to using the I pod docking system yet (I'm not really an i poddy sort of bloke really) but it's there for when I do decide to join the rest of humanity... And there are plenty of adaptors supplied so there should be no trouble placing any particular model into the dock... CD supports both conventional and MP3 format, which was nice... All in all the best bit of kit I have bought in many a good year and well cheaper than some other products, so much so that when I placed my order I wasn't really expecting too much bang for my bucks but when I opened the box on arrival I was almost bowled over... The build quality and style really take your breath away, especially for the money. Not sure if this model is still available or if it has been superseded but if you are after something along these lines I don't think you could go far wrong with a CX2001DAB... And Teac are a decent brand as well... Go on, you know you want to...Read full review
The Teac CX200IDAB is a very neat little unit (apart from the bulky boost speaker, which you need to find a place for). The unit has everything - CD player, DAB radio, ipod docking station (comes complete with interchangeable fixing plates for all types of ipod), auxilliary plug in, and remote control. The sound is quite amazing! Treble and Bass can be adjusted with the remote control, which is great for listening to various different types of music (high bass on opera - sounds like you could be sitting in the auditorium!) Sound quality on DAB radio is excellent, although I haven't quite got the hang of tuning all the stations in. I paid less than £100 for this, and it is worth every penny.
