'ITS THE VINYL COUNTDOWN'
Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..
VERY HARD TO FIND GENUINE UK MID 70s Pressing LP - MATT SLEEVE WITH PRINTER CREDITS
FIRST BLUE LABELS, AND VERY FEW PLAYS!
THIS CLASSIC AND SUPER RARE LP RARELY SURFACES THESE DAYS, AND WE HAVE HERE A STUNNER!
Label DECCA SKL 5082
Matrix ZAL 10412 P
ZAL 10413 P
THE VINYL MINT- INCREDIBLE CONDITION
OK...Where to start with this classic LP!
Firstly, to clarify- only the very first run (we believe a couple of hundred copies only) were sent out in laminated sleeves and the stamped matrix numbers, and no printer credits on the back
The first press also went out in standard matt sleeve. as above
The early/mid 70s press, this one, was re-issued due to the success of the 'Jailbreak' era, and the LP was still then issued in the same matt sleeve (probably stored at Decca) and blue labels, but 'etched' matrix numbers..also you'll notice that the THIN LIZZY name on the bottom of the label is slightly 'fatter' than the first label
After this period the LP was isued again on a 'glossier sleeve' and flimsy press til the early 80s
** also beware this LP has been cleverly b**tlegged....watch out for these..most come shrinkwrapped..rubbish **
This pressing is a superb vinyl QUITE INCREDIBLE IN FACT!
It has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings.
Just a couple of light spider lines around the centre hole, and no wear to the spindle hole whatsoever.
There is barely a hint of any whisp lines, and a couple of tiny feint hairlines and thats it- nothing else! Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking..IT REMAINS IN ASTONISHING CONDITION.
On playing through- wow! barely any lead in static and just the odd static crackle in afe wspots along the way- this LP really does pay quite amazing..EASILY as good as we have ever seen in fact.
OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.
THE LABELS MINT FLAT MATT LABELS - Same silver inks and petrol labels, Featuring the slightly fatter THIN LIZZY name at the bottom.
THE SLEEVE EX STRONG
ALL THINGS CONSIDERED..THIS SLEEVE IS ONE OF THE VERY HARDEST ONES TO FIND WITHOUT SQUASH, DAMAGE AND WEAR..IT IS A NIGHTMARE! ;0.
This is the early 70s matt finish sleeve with the printer credits, and square spine.
As we see this LP mostly in terrible 'beyond saving' condition, for us to auction one at all you can rest assured it is very very presentable..rare or not, we feel a rubbish LP is pointless to auction. So, taking into consideration how hard it is to find a superb condition sleeve, &it is quite amazing how it has survived so clean.
Not mint..but still a super copy, and the vinyl is a stunner as mentioned!
The edges show some light spidering a light crease by the spine. Some spider lines are white.
No powdery white ringwear - there is some light white seam rub on the top edge & some very light ring press, and all edges are crisp with just some light rub.
Also some feint white rub by the open edge nothing too bad- The black inks are still super clean
the lightest of tip rub and one litle dink on the bottom corner.
The open edge remains in nice sharp condition with minimal feathering
The spine edge is superb....one tink little 'pinch' and thats it..a strong point for this sleeve - amazing!
The back sleeve is superb..STILL WHITE AS NEW!!! No wear or damge to this side at all..wonderful.
We cannot add any more than this! a superb copy of this 'the grail' of Thin Lizzy LPs....
THE INNER SLEEVE EX+
DECCA ORIGINAL POLY LINER -A couple of light brown marks on one side, otherwise immaculate.
