I purchased this book earlier this year when my new horse seemingly disliked his farrier! I researched online and asked lots of questions and this book was recommended. This book is a great basic book for those interested in changing from shod to barefoot. It gives good and balanced advice about the various parts needed to give the horse the healthy foot that it needs. I have communicated with Lucy a few times through her business and always found her helpful and knowledgable. A great value for money book for the novice barefoot owner. I liked the references to hoof boots, diet, pasture and barefoot trimmers, all the constituent parts to make the horses transition to barefoot easier. It is basic and would not suit someone who has extensively read and researched but great for those of us just starting out. Having since read a couple more books, this remains a great basic starting book. Owners can then decide how much more they want and need to know and go from there. Value for money too.Read full review
Can't put the book down, so much to learn from it. In depth on the subject of horses being barefoot, including feeding, boots and exercise. Plus lots more.

I BOUGHT THIS BOOK AS I HAVE VERY RECENTLY GONE BAREFOOT WITH MY HORSE AND FELT THE MORE INFORMATION I COULD OBTAIN THE BETTER. THIS IS A VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD BOOK THAT`S EASY TO UNDERSTAND WITH A HELPFULL SECTION ON HOOF BOOTS. I HAVEN`T READ ANY OTHER BOOKS ON BAREFOOT BUT SEARCHED LOTS OF INFO ON THE WEB ON THIS SUBJECT AND FEEL ITS GOOD TO ACTUALLY HAVE A HARD COPY OF INFO THAT I CAN REFER TO EASILY, ESPECIALLY WHEN OUT AT HORSE
