'The Enchanted Land '
Tales Told Again By Louey Chisholm
Illustrated by Katharine Cameron - 30 Colour Plates
Published by T C & E C Jack. 1st edition, published in 1906, 211 pages. 24cm x 17cm. Deluxe binding and uniform with 'In Fairyland' by Louey Chisholm. An unusual binding and I am unable to locate another copy for sale at the moment.
Brown cloth bound boards with gilt art nouveau design surrounding a paste on illustration (from 'The Red Shoes') by Katharine Cameron (1874 -1965). Katharine Cameron studied at the Glasgow School of Art (1890 -1893) and was an accomplished artist, illustrator and close friend of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife, Margaret MacDonald.
Contains the following stories
The Snow Queen
The Toy Princess
The Three Golden Hairs
The Four White Swans
The Christmas Rose
The Frog Prince
The Heart of The Princess Joan
The Twelve Huntsman
The Red Shoes
The Star Eyed Deirdre
The Twelve Dancing Princesses
The Pedlar's Pack
The Legend of The Daisy
The Magic Candles
The book is complete, no pages are missing and the binding is tight. The book has some damaging to the top right hand side probably caused by nibbling mice sometime over the last 108 years. I have pictured the damage and fortunately it does not affect any of the text or any of the 30 beautiful illustrations.
