Deceptive in the sense that, when I received the book, I felt cheated that I was not getting more ‘book’ for my money. Obviously, this is totally due to stupidity on my part. The number of words in a book has no correlation to its quality, obviously. A very well presented book in a very clear typeset. Though I do have a working knowledge of Michael Chekhov’s ‘method’, I did find Petit’s approach to Chekhov to be a compelling insight into the work of a master teacher’s approach to a Master Teacher’s approach.
